Everything you need to know about The Gentlemen

The Gentlemen follows Edward ‘Eddie’ Horniman, a former Army Captain of nobility who discovers that his father, the Duke of Halstead, has left him his 15,000-acre estate and his title upon his death.

This comes at a particular annoyance to his coke-addicted older brother, Freddy, who as the eldest son believed the inheritance was his birthright.

On top of that, the title has no practical value, with his enormous estate falling into disrepair – and it turns out it’s also home of a weed-growing empire run by the smart-mouthed Susie Glass.

Getting a cut of the profits for allowing the business to continue, soon Eddie finds himself working on the wrong side of the law in order to get the estate back on its feet, while also avoiding the shady figures in his brother’s life whom he owes money to.

It doesn’t take long for the knives and guns to come out as Eddie desperately tries to restore order in his life.

Created by the King of gangster flicks Guy Ritchie, The Gentlemen runs for eight episodes and launched in March 2024.

Will there be a season two of The Gentlemen?

At the time of writing (July 2024) there has currently been no announced plans for The Gentlemen season two – although there is a demand for it.

The series was initially planned to be a limited series, and speaking after the show’s launch, lead actor Theo James seemed sceptical at the show returning.

He told Deadline Contenders TV: “It wasn’t genuinely discussed. I think it would be a wrangling process with all of us and Guy.

“But also, I think with a show like this, if you’re going to do more, you need to come up with a really interesting conceit for Season 2. Because as much as we enjoyed it and as fun as it was, it needs narrative drive.”

However, he noted the show “maybe” could return, though “discussions need to be made.
