Everything you need to know about Baby Reindeer
Baby Reindeer follows Donny Dunn, a down-on-his-luck wannabe comedian and part-time barman who lives with his ex-girlfriend’s mum in London.
On a seemingly average day, Donny offers a cup of tea on the house to Martha, an upset looking woman who has come into the pub. A grateful Martha is soon cheered up, bragging to Donny about her life as a lawyer with high-flying political clients and multiple houses - despite the fact she can’t even afford a cup of tea.
This friendly gesture proves to be a life-changing catalyst on Donny’s life, as soon Martha starts spending every day at the pub, bombarding him with e-mails when he’s not in, and turning up everywhere he goes.
As Martha’s obsession with Donny continues to grow, he is forced to confront his own past and current relationships as she stirs up old memories that threaten to tear his whole world apart.
Soon, he’s in fear for his life, and needs to figure out how to get Martha out of his life for good before her volatile behavior turns too violent.

Is Baby Reindeer a true story?
Yes. Baby Reindeer is based on the true experiences of 35-year-old Richard Gadd, who wrote and stars in the series.
During his twenties, Gadd grappled with living with a stalker, who first met him while working at the Hawley Arms in Camden and tried to build his name as an actor and comedian.
Some of the emails and tweets sent to Gadd were incorporated into the show, often starting each episode.
He claims to have received 41,071 emails, 350 hours of voicemails, 744 tweets, 46 Facebook messages from three fake accounts, 106 pages of letters and gifts over the course of three years.
His experiences of assault at the hands of a television writer are also claimed to be true.
Gadd has never personally identified those involved, and discouraged others to identify them, although one woman has since claimed to be the person Martha after tweets matching those used in the show were found online.
Before Baby Reindeer was a TV series, it was a highly regarded one-man show Gadd debuted at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2019.
It was later given a West End run in 2021.

Will there be a season two of Baby Reindeer?
At the time of writing (July 2024), there are currently no plans for season two of Baby Reindeer.
Reasons behind this stem from it being a true story, and based on a play, all of the events of which have now been covered.
Speaking at the Gotham TV Awards in June 2024, Gadd told TVLine: “It’s such a niche show, if you think about it. A very singular experience, it’s my experiences as a person, and it’s very idiosyncratic - it’s all through my point of view.”
When asked about a potential season two, he said: “I think Baby Reindeer’s done, to be honest. I think… I’m very proud of it and very proud of how it ends. It felt very complete to me. I always saw it as a limited series, always saw it as a one-off.
“I always reserve a one-per-cent, never say never, but I really do think it’s best left where it is.”
