Full fibre broadband, also known as FTTP (fibre to the premises) and FTTH (fibre to the home) delivers broadband directly into your home via the ultra-fast fibre optic cable.

No cabinet, no copper cables, no sharing internet with the neighbours.

It's ultra-reliable broadband for the busiest homes. Streaming, downloading, video calls, gaming. All at the same time.

Traditional fibre broadband, also known as FTTC (fibre to the cabinet) delivers broadband to the
cabinet in your area via fibre optic cable.

But copper wire delivers broadband to your home from the cabinet, and is much slower. Distance from the cabinet and how many households online all at once can slow your internet.
When you sign up to Sky Broadband there are two different ways you can get started:

- If you already have an active line an engineer won't be needed and you can connect your Sky Hub yourself on the install date.
- If you don't already have an active line an Openreach engineer will need to install your broadband service. This includes replacing a master socket if the existing one is faulty, or installing a new one if needed. It's worth noting, however, that they will not move an existing socket.

£100 Broadband/Calls/Line Rental Credit: Applicable to all providers. If you decide to switch your broadband, calls and line rental to Sky and your provider charges you for any monthly payments due after you leave, you can claim up to £100 Sky account credit (capped at the amount you are charged for those monthly payments (e.g. excluding outstanding call charges). To claim, you must have paid those in full and send us proof of your payment within 90 days of your Sky services being activated.

Guarantees

Speed Guarantee: Comes with any Sky Broadband product. If the download speed to your Sky Hub drops below your guaranteed minimum download speed for three consecutive days or more, you will have the right to leave your broadband and Talk contracts without incurring early termination charges from that point until 30 days after us confirming that the issue can’t be resolved. You can also upgrade your broadband product without any upfront fees.

This applies anytime within your minimum term. Total loss of service and Major Service Outages do not count towards three-day periods, such as if your broadband stops working completely, or you can’t use the internet on any of your devices and it’s not a WiFi problem. Speed checks must be done using sky.com/servicechecker, the MySky app or by speaking to one of our service advisors. See sky.com for more details, usage policies and to check your speeds. 

Sky fibre customers can also claim money back under this speed guarantee by calling Sky. You must be within your minimum term and can claim once within it. Money back will be one month of your broadband subscription credited to your Sky account. This excludes Sky Talk, call charges, and any Add-Ons like McAfee, Broadband Boost or WiFi Max.

WiFi Guarantee with Boost:  Available to new Ultrafast customers and as a re-contract for existing customers with Sky Broadband Boost. Min. 3Mb/s - Sky engineer's visit required to confirm WiFi speed - or money back and you can cancel your Sky Broadband Boost subscription without any early termination charges. Claim once anytime during 24-month min. term. Money back will be one month of your broadband and Sky Broadband Boost subscriptions credited to your Sky account.
