Everything you need to know about the Sony superhero flick, Madame Web
Sony’s Spider-Man universe introduced some girl power with the 2024 release of Madame Web. While not directly connected to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the film offers backstory to the world Peter Parker grew up in, as well as the superheroes and villains from his past he was unaware of.
Madame Web proved to be one of the most talked-about films of 2024 – providing the internet with memes and quotes to last for months.
Now, you can see what the commotion was about for yourself as the film swings onto Sky Cinema.
The official synopsis reads:
“Madame Web tells the story of Cassandra ‘Cassie’ Web, who grew up an orphan after the passing of her mother while researching spiders in the Amazon.
Set in 2003 New York, a thirtysomething Cassie is making a living as a paramedic with her friend Ben when she is involved in an accident and dies for three minutes.
When she wakes up, she suddenly has the power to see the future, though struggles to get anyone to believe her.
Soon, she finds herself having to protect three young women from a strange man named Ezekiel Sims, who wants all four of them dead.
Ezekiel has a mysterious connection to her mother, and the adventure Cassie finds herself on reveals previously unknown truths about her past – like why her mother was in the Amazon while heavily pregnant with her.”
