Christmas is a time for family, fun… and some good old festive movies.

Here at Sky, we aim to give you those fuzzy feelings of a good cosy watch as you wrap up your presents, deck your halls, or grab a hot chocolate to wind down with each evening during the colder months.

So we’ve created some of the best new Christmas films on the market, and now they’re all just a couple of clicks of a remote away.

As we settle into December, here are the best Sky Original Christmas movies ready for you to watch.

Bad Tidings (2024)

Chris McCausland and Lee Mack star as warring neighbours who end up sending their street into darkness in a row over Christmas lights.

Tripping the power, Christmas is essentially cancelled for this community, who quickly dash off to spend Christmas elsewhere.

But with no security cameras and no alarms working, it grabs the attention of a gang of thieves who consider the entire street the perfect target.

Now the pair need to figure out how to work together for the safety of their neighbourhood.

Genie (2023)

Love Actually creator Richard Curtis brings this fairytale story to life, following a man who has lost sight of what’s important.

Bernard (Paapa Essiedu) has been so busy working that his marriage to wife Julie is beginning to crumble, especially when he misses his daughter’s birthday. With Christmas around the corner, Julie thinks it’s time for a trial separation, and his boss fires him.

Alone and feeling lonely, Bernard’s life changes when he discovers and old jewellery box and discovers a genie inside. Flora (Melissa McCarthy) is on hand to grant his wishes, and the duo embark on an adventure around New York as they learn about friendship and love.

Last Train to Christmas (2021)

Starting in 1985, Tony Towers (Michael Sheen) is about to go on the trip of a lifetime. As a successful nightclub manager and local celebrity and engaged to a much younger woman, Sue (Nathalie Emmanuel), Tony’s life is going great.

But when he embarks upon the 3:17 to Nottingham for a Christmas family reunion, things get a little strange. Moving up a carriage to the buffet car lands him in 1995, where he finds his clubs have failed and his life has fallen apart.

Soon he discovers that by moving up and down this fateful train, he can transport himself forward and backward to various stages of his life. Not only that, but the actions he takes in one carriage directly affect his life in the next.

The question is, can Tony change his life – and the lives of the people he loves - for the better, or will he just make things worse?

A Boy Called Christmas (2021)

An ordinary young boy called Nikolas sets out on an extraordinary adventure when the King requests someone find ‘a little spark of magic’ to bring to the kingdom.

With his loyal pet mouse (voiced by Stephen Merchant), Nikolas heads into the snowy north on a quest to discover the fabled village of Elfhelm, a special village populated entirely by elves.

But destiny has some big plans for Nikolas, and this adventure is just the start.

This heartwarming family tale features an all-star cast including Sally Hawkins, Kristen Wiig, Michiel Huisman, Stephen Merchant, Jim Broadbent, and the legendary Dame Maggie Smith.

Silent Night (2023)

If you want something a little darker this Christmas, Joel Kinnaman stars in this revenge thriller about a man searching for justice after the death of his son.

In Las Palomas, Texas, Brian and his wife Saya are living a happy and quiet life with their young son, Taylor Michael. But on Christmas Eve, their world changes forever when Brian and Taylor are caught up in a gangland warfare drive-by shooting.

Taylor is killed in the commotion, while Brian is shot in the throat and left for dead. While he survives, he’s now barely able to talk, and becomes overwhelmed with grief and wants the gang members to pay for what they did.

A year on from the death and now alone after his wife leaves him, Brian gets to work putting his vengeance plan into action.

Prancer: A Christmas Tale (2022)

Ten-year-old Gloria is in for a life-changing Christmas when she and her mother head to the small town of Brightridge to visit her recently widowed grandfather, Bud.

Once there, Gloria and Bud find themselves helping a reindeer who lands on his roof. As Bud shares that the reindeer might be magical, Gloria worries that others finding out about it might cause the family to put him in a retirement home.

Deciding to keep it a secret, the duo work to figure out what brought the reindeer here, and also save Bud’s ailing local store.

A Christmas No.1 (2021)

When Meg Rai’s high-flying life in New York comes crashing down on her, she leaves her cheating popstar boyfriend and takes a new job in her native London for a fresh start.

She soon lands a job managing boyband, 5 Together, who hope nabbing the sought-after Christmas Number One will revive their ailing career. Their record label is banking on it too, believing it will keep them afloat for the year to come.

Away from the popstar life, thrash metal rocker Blake Cutter is persuaded to write a Christmas song by his festive season-loving niece, Nina, who is terminally sick; this could be the track Meg needs to get them to their goal.

But as Meg and Blake work together to get the song off the ground, dealing with the diva demands of 5 Together at the same time, the pair find Christmas working its magic in a more romantic way than either considered.
