What is Revival about?
In this twisted new supernatural horror, the town of Wausau, Wisconsin is changed forever when a strange phenomenon occurs and the recently dead come back to life. Not in a ‘zombie’ way either – they’re walking and talking just like they did before they died. To some it’s a miracle, but to others? A mystery in need of unwrapping.
As the town marks ‘Revival Day’, mysteries around how the “revivers” continue as they live their life exactly as they did before, except now with fast-acting healing abilities. It also brings up a line of bizarre questions for detective Dana Cypress, whose sister, Martha, is a reviver as well.
Determined to get to the bottom of what happened, Dana considers everyone – both living and revived – a suspect as paranoia, violence and distrust in the town grows.
Based on the comic book series by Tim Seeley and Mike Norton, this dark story first launched on Syfy in the US in July 2025.
It earned an 89% score on RottenTomatoes, with TV Guide saying in their review: “Arriving at a time when zombie stories are teetering on the brink between popular and overplayed, Revival benefits from an approach that doesn't take itself too seriously.”
