Based on the stage play by Peter Shaffer’s award-winning stage play, this spectacular five-part story reimagines the meteoric rise and mythic downfall of one of history’s most iconic composers — and rockstar virtuoso of the 18th century, Wolfgang ‘Amadeus’ Mozart.
Played by The White Lotus star Will Sharpe, twenty-five-year-old Amadeus arrives in bustling 18th Century Vienna, no longer a child prodigy and craving creative freedom, his world collides with two pivotal figures: his fiercely loyal future wife, Constanze Weber and devoutly religious court composer, Antonio Salieri.
But as Amadeus’ brilliance continues to flourish, he fights personal demons, a damaged reputation and sceptics within the conservative court – especially Salieri, who becomes increasingly tormented by Mozart’s seemingly divine gift, and vows to bring him down after seeing him as a threat to his own reputation.

Earlier this year, Gillian Anderson and Jason Isaacs even starred in a dramatic retelling of this heartfelt story.
But as Raynor and her husband Moth were embraced by the nation, their story was not all that it seemed - and over the course of a months-long investigation by Observer journalist Chloe Hadjimatheou, a new story began to emerge.
Piecing together paper trails, interviews and testimony from those who knew the Winns before their walk began, the findings rocked the entire story that fans knew and loved. As the investigation continues, The Real Salt Path looks into what really happened on the Winns’ journey – which seemingly has more twists than the book.
