Bridget Jones 4: Here’s Where You Can See the Cast Hero Image

It’s the moment all Bridget Jones fans have been waiting for… The hit rom-com is back and returning for a fourth film, officially titled Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy.

It’s been more than eight years since Bridget last appeared on our screens and 23 since the first movie was released, so you’re forgiven if the details are a bit hazy. The movie is scheduled for release on V-Day 2025 (in the US – no word on UK) with Renee Zellweger, Hugh Grant, and Emma Thompson all set to return, with star of the Netflix series One Day Leo Woodall joining the cast alongside Oscar nominee Chiwetel Ejiofor.

With months to go until Bridget Jones 4 is released, we recommend using your time wisely and reacquainting yourself with (self-professed) spinster Bridget Jones by watching the first three movies - all of which are available on Sky Cinema and NOW. And once you’re done with that, why not check out some of the other TV shows and movies that the cast of Bridget Jones 4 have appeared in?

Read on for a selection of movies and TV shows the cast of Bridget Jones 4 have appeared in.

Bridget Jones 1-3

Who: Renee Zellweger (1-3), Hugh Grant (1-2), Emma Thompson (3)

Naturally, we had to start with all three Bridget Jones movies (all of which are available on Sky Cinema). The first – Bridget Jones’s Diary - based on the 1996 book of the same name, sees Renee Zellweger star as Bridget, a 30-something hopeless singleton who is hell-bent on finding a man. Her quest for love leaves her torn between Daniel Cleaver (played by Hugh Grant) and his former best-friend Mark Darcy (played by Colin Firth). In the second movie – Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason – the love triangle continues as Bridget’s relationship with Mark is threatened when she meets Mark’s beautiful assistant Rebecca and Daniel Cleaver returns to stir up trouble. In the third film - Bridget Jones’s Baby – a still single Bridget discovers she’s pregnant and that the father could be either Mark or Jack, a man she met whilst embracing single life at a music festival. In classic Bridget fashion, she sets out to discover – whilst hiding one from the other – who is the baby’s father.

Love Actually

Who: Hugh Grant, Emma Thompson, Chiwetel Ejiofor

A classic movie – perhaps one of the greatest romcoms depending on who you’re asking – in which three of the cast of Bridget Jones 4 star. Love Actually follows the love lives of eight different couples, all of whom are loosely interconnected, in the run-up to Christmas. Hugh Grant stars as the UK Prime Minister and treats us all to an iconic dance scene which sees him dancing through 10 Downing Street to Jump (For My Love) by Pointer Sisters. Emma Thompson plays his sister, a devoted wife and mother, who discovers that her husband has been having an affair with a younger woman from work. Chiwetel Ejiofor also stars in the movie, playing the role of Peter who marries Keira Knightley’s character Juliet and whose best friend Mark later professes his love to Juliet. Unbeknownst to Peter, of course.

The White Lotus

Who: Leo Woodall

Leo Woodall undeniably had one of the most talked-about scenes of The White Lotus season two. Put simply, no one saw it coming – especially Tanya. Woodall’s role made him a breakout star, with the internet going crazy over an intimate encounter with his supposed uncle in episode five. This American anthology series follows the guests and employees of the fictional White Lotus resort chain, with the second season being set in Sicily during a European summer. Woodall stars as Jack, a young Essex lad who develops a holiday romance with Portia - a hotel guest who is there in a professional capacity as the assistant of the aforementioned Tanya.

The Undoing

Who: Hugh Grant

Based on the 2014 novel You Should Have Known, The Undoing is a ‘whodunnit’ thriller that follows the seemingly perfect life of Grace, a rich New York therapist whose life gets flipped upside down when her family becomes involved in a murder case. Hugh Grant stars as Jonathan Fraser, an oncologist and husband to Grace (played by Nicole Kidman), who finds himself as the lead suspect in the murder of Elena, a fellow parent at her son’s school.

Notting Hill

Who: Hugh Grant

One thing Hugh Grant is great at is starring in a rom-com and Notting Hill is one that needs no introduction. Grant’s role as travel bookstore owner William Thacker earned him a Golden Globe nomination (unfortunately, no win) for Best Actor and saw the film go on to become a regular in many all-time best film lists. The movie follows the romance between William Thacker and a famous American actress (played by Julia Roberts) who happens to walk into his bookstore in Notting Hill.

2012

Who: Chiwetel Ejiofor

The movie is based on the 2012 phenomenon and the Mayan belief that the world was going to come to a spectacular ending on December 21, 2012. Chiwetel Ejiofor stars as geologist and chief scientific advisor to the US President Adrian Helmsley who fights to survive a series of global catastrophic events – namely earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and tsunamis - that will bring an end to the world.

Jerry Maguire is the sports comedy-drama with a cult-following and several popular catchphrases, including Tom Cruise’s character shouting ‘Show me the money!’ The movie tells the story of a sports agent who has a moral epiphany which results in him being fired. In an attempt to retain his clients, he starts an independent management firm with single mother Dorothy Boyd (played by Renee Zellweger) and manages to persuade one athlete – football player Rod Tidwell – to continue working with him.
