Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon are set off on another adventure with another edition of The Trip – this series’ destination: Greece.
Now intending to follow the footsteps of Odysseus, Steve and Rob have just six days to complete what it took the mythological Greek figure 10 years to complete.
Starting in Troy and heading to Ithaca, the pair take in the best food and experiences the regions have to offer, making whistle-stop tours via the beach home famed for Mamma Mia!, Athens, and King Nestor's home of Pilos along the way.
That’s in between debate-filled dinners and trying to one-up each other, of course.
Shot in 2019 and released in 2020, The Trip to Greece sees the two battle with the highs and lows of life together.
Here’s what you need to know about the fourth series of the pair’s culinary adventures and how it played out.
How can I watch The Trip?

The Trip to the Northern Lights was announced in June 2025, with filming set to commence later in the year.
The Trip to Greece: Episodes Recap
The Trip to Greece runs for six, half-hour episodes, and starts with Coogan and Brydon preparing for the 10th anniversary of their first series.
Episode 1 - ‘Troy to Kavala’
When The Observer asks the pair to mark the 10th anniversary of their first trip by heading to Greece, Rob and Steve start their adventure in Troy (now modern-day Turkey), complete with a Trojan horse visit. Dining at Ida Blue, they talk through Steve’s role of Stan Laurel in the Laurel and Hardy biopic, Stan and Ollie, Rob’s near-death experience with George Clooney, and how Lesbos originated the word lesbian.
Episode 2 - ‘Kavala to Pelion’
Determined to unwind, Rob and Steve hit a spa before the pair move on to their next destination – though one has a better time than the other. Steve and Rob then head to the beach home of ABBA musical Mamma Mia!. Over lunch, they share their thoughts on Alexander the Great and trade Marlon Brando and Ray Winstone impersonations.
Episode 3 - ‘Pelion to Athens’
Steve is dogged with nightmares of ancient Rome as their adventure continues. Steve and Rob take a road trip to Delphi and discuss the history of the song Grease (from the musical), while Steve wants to focus more on the ancient history of Greece – the country. Caught in the rain in Delphi, the pair explore ruins before heading to Athens. At a Michelin-starred seafood restaurant, the duo reflect on the famous battles it was home to, the origin of marathons, and how to resuscitate someone who’s had a heart attack.
Episode 4 - ‘Athens to Hydra’
It’s time for a photoshoot, and Steve and Rob are joined by manager Emma and photographer Yolanda to shoot at Epidaurus Amphitheatre. As they debate who gets the comedic and dramatic masks, Steve and Rob trade jabs about their award wins. Hitting the road, the gang endure Rob’s rendition of Bee Gees Tragedy before grabbing a boat to Hydra, and Steve and Yolanda spark a connection.
Episode 5 - ‘Hydra to the Mani’
The morning after the night before, Rob and Steve debrief and discuss Steve’s connection with Yolanda. As the pair discuss where they would have stood in ancient Sparta, especially as the government wouldn’t allow anyone under 60, the pair reflect on their own age – and what it means for them as they arrive in Limini.
Episode 6 - ‘The Mani to Ithaca’
Rob and Steve’s adventure to King Nestor’s home of Pilos is cut short as Steve receives some tragic news, leaving him devastated.
As the news prompts the pair to return home early, Rob and Steve find themselves grappling with their own mortality and the legacy they’ll leave behind, and who will remember them.
As the pair have their own emotional reunions with loved ones, the duo reflect on what they find important in their lives.
