Mr Bigstuff: Season 1 Guide Hero Image

There’s trouble… and then there’s family.

In this Sky Original comedy, broken families, fragile masculinity, and carpet sales are the deal of the day as Mr Bigstuff arrives on our screens.

We’re introduced to the troubled relationship of two brothers who couldn’t be more different. Glen is a nervy perfectionist striving to live a picket-fence life in the suburbs with his fiancée, Kirsty, while Lee is an alpha male wannabe with a prescription drug addiction and a biscuit tin of his Dad’s ashes.

Basically your normal family.

When Lee unceremoniously crash lands onto Glen’s Essex doorstep while trying to run away from something in his life, both their lives begin to unravel in the most unbelievable ways possible.

Season 1 Episodes Recap

Episode 1

World of Carpets salesman Glen's mundane day turns chaotic when his estranged brother Lee turns up unexpectedly.

Lee's presence leads to a family revelation that shocks Glen’s fiancée Kirsty and it is not long before his big brother starts to disrupt Glen’s longing for an ideal suburban life, his plans for a work promotion, and add to his relationship stress.

Episode 2

Lee settles into suburban life by starting an altercation with a delivery driver while Glen and Kirsty promise that there’ll be no more secrets between them.

Kirsty persuades Glen to try a bit of networking to smooth things over with his boss Ian to secure his work promotion, suggesting they invite Ian out to dinner.

Meanwhile, Lee is still determined to track down their dad’s old pal - their “uncle” Steve.

Episode 3

Glen steps up as acting manager of World of Carpets and starts to love the power it gives him, until his colleagues put him in his place.

At home, Lee spots a faulty tap and asks Kirsty if Glen has been neglecting his manly duties.

Lee heads off to a DIY store to make himself useful but it’s not long before he gets into an altercation with another customer and unbeknownst to Lee, the men he’s running from are closer than he thinks.

In a rare act of altruism, Lee instigates a fight club to help Glen regain his mojo.

Episode 4

Glen reels from the repercussions of the fight club and at World of Carpets, Glen’s promotion is jeopardised by a drunk Ian.

Lee reveals more information to Glen about the dodgy people who are after him and things go from bad to worse for Glen, when two scary-looking tattooed blokes turn up at the store and start asking questions about his family.

Kirsty’s shoplifting catches up with her and she finds a surprisingly sympathetic shoulder to cry on.

Episode 5

Lee finds himself an unwilling audience member for Kirsty and Glen’s wedding dance class.

Unable to find their groove, Kirsty finally comes clean to Glen about her shoplifting habits.

Lee realises his past has finally caught up with him and decides to take drastic action.

As Lee prepares to do a runner, he is interrupted by Kirsty’s mum, Sue.

Her actions lead Lee to question whether he is doing the right thing by running away from his troubles.

Episode 6

While celebrating Glen’s promotion at World of Carpets, Kirsty and Glen check their banking app and realise their wedding fund has been emptied.

When Glen comes clean to Kirsty, revealing to her that bad men are after Lee, Kirsty leaps into action and becomes suburbia’s version of The Stig.

But it is not long before Glen and Kirsty come face to face with Lee’s pursuers and realise that Lee has not been telling the whole truth about his situation.
