Brassic Best Bits: The Funniest Quotes and Scenes Hero Image

WARNING – Spoilers, strong language and adult themes

It’s a tall order to pick just a few best moments from Brassic, but we’ve done our best here. From accidental kidnappings to explosive bulls, we’re looking at some of Brassic’s funniest and most chaotic moments.

Warning, as fans of the show may be aware, there’s likely to be some fruity language below...

Season 1:

F--- Quinoa (Season 1, Episode 1)

Brassic kicks off with an intentional homage to Irvine Welsh’s Trainspotting, where Vinnie sets the scene in a voiceover…

‘F--- the middle class. F--- The Guardian. F--- three holidays a year, and drinking red wine, talking bollocks at dinner parties. F--- quinoa and keenwa. F--- scented candles. You can f--- your people carriers and your posh kids called Tilly and Tarquin. F--- moisturiser. F--- vitamins. F--- lacrosse, and bloody tennis and 18 holes on a f---ing Sunday.

They call us Blair’s forgotten youth. Kids that grow up in a town that offered nothing. No opportunities, no prospects, no hope.

But what they’ll never understand is this, we're not victims. We just have a different way of living. It’s about having your mates, man. Having a laugh and just finding a way to survive.’

Vinnie vs The Undertaker (Season 1, Episode 2)

Vinnie calls on Gary the Undertaker when a local legend unexpectedly passes away. Unfortunately, the bad-tempered Irishman is in no mood to take a job on credit…

“It all came as a set…” (Season 1, Episode 5)

With the guys in another lather, Erin is keen to keep them away from her doorstep. Easier said than done…

“If the Police come round here snooping I want everything that isn’t legit out of the house. Anything that’s nicked, I want it gone. The washer?” “That’s nicked.” “That’s nicked. The Dryer?” “Hmm. Yeah that’s nicked.” “Microwave?” “It all came as a set, love.” “F---’s sake.” “Anything that’s electric, it’s been stolen. TV… everything” “Everything. Out.” “I’ll get a van.”

“Please tell me this is some kind of f---ed up sex thing.” (Season 1, Episode 5)

When Vinnie and Erin’s less than brilliant brother Ronnie get involved in a bit of accidental kidnapping, they’re got some explaining to do…

Erin: “Please tell me this is some kind of f---ed up sex thing.”

Dr Coxley: “That’s what I just said.”

Vinnie: “You don’t know what we’ve been dealing with. Your f---ing idiot brother’s caused all this!”

Erin: “I asked you to look after him! Keep him out of the way in the barn. Why is he in a weed farm with a f---ing copper tied to a chair… who’s he?”

Ronnie: “He’s a doctor.”

Vinnie: “Shut the f--- up I swear…”

Ronnie: “That’s exactly what I’ve been dealing with all day. Threatening, bullying behaviour. “Oh shut the eff up Ronnie, Oh Ronnie I’m going to effing eff you up Ronnie.” And it’s been hard mate. It’s been really hard.

Vinnie: Shut up Ronald!

Erin: “Why is there a police officer tied to a chair.”

Vinnie: “So Officer Slater was standing guard outside… we had to accidentally kidnap him a little bit, haven’t we Carl?”

Erin: “Carl Slater as in “Carl Slater Bums Dogs”?” [everyone groans]

Vinnie: What you all doing? Stop it with the dog bumming thing. Listen, it’s not helpful. He’s still a little sore about that and says we’re all going to jail for f**king kidnapping…”

Erin: “You’re all a bunch of f---ing idiots.”

Season 2:

Vinnie Returns from the Dead (Season 2, Episode 1)

After faking his death at the climax of the first series, Vinnie emerges from three months of hiding to check in with Dr Coxley – who isn’t quite as concerned as you might think…

“I’ve been in a weed bunker now for three months p*ssing in bottles and that.” “Where were you sh*tting?” “Never mind where I’ve been sh*tting!”

Would anybody like a disco biscuit? (Season 2, Episode 5)

Farmer Jim lays out his objection to a music festival on his land with his usual tact…

“A Festival? Here! F---ing Tilly and Tarquin. F---ing bank of Mum and Dad Never done a proper day’s work in their life. In their oversized sunglasses and their designer wellies. “Oh, bring down the government. Oh, let all the immigrants in. Why can’t we all live in peace and harmony?” Because we f---ing can’t! And no amount of flowers in your f---ing middle class henna henna’d f---ing hair is gonna change that… “Who wants a disco biscuit?” starts raving

Saying Goodbye is Never Easy (Season 2, Episode 6)

In the finale to season two, Vinnie is carted off by the police for a spell inside. But before he leaves, he has something to say to Erin:

“I know it’s wrong… you’re the first thing in the morning, and the last thing at night. I just don’t know how to tell you how much you mean to me. Tell Tyler I love him.”

Season 3:

Sweet release (Season 3, Episode 1)

We open up the series with Vinnie being released from his stint at Her Majesty’s (RIP) pleasure. While undergoing the prerequisite cavity search, he strikes up a bit of friendly conversation with the guard:

“Remove your trousers please.” “What’s the deal, have you always wanted to do this for a living or what?” “Kind of fell into it really. Saw an opening.” “Haha!... Oh.”

The bull scene (Season 3, Episode 1)

Fresh out of prison, Vinnie gets a job stealing a prize bull’s best swimmers. But in classic Brassic fashion, things end explosively… and the guys aren’t especially well equipped to handle the situation.

(We’d love to link to a clip of this, but YouTube won’t let us host it… )

Vinnie meets his match (Season 3, Episode 3)

While acting as bagman for a kidnapping, Vinnie and the gang get their car nicked by a pair of delinquent schoolkids. They track them and their bag down, but Vinnie doesn’t quite deliver the dressing down he wanted to…

The bottle incident (Season 3, Episode 3)

It’s better not to ask, but the guys are in a stolen Rolls Royce while using a bottle as a communal toilet, all while racing to get to get back to Tyler’s with a birthday cake in hand. Haste makes waste when an errant speed bump causes a situation.

Season 4:

Dr Chris is a bad doctor (Season 4, Episode 3)

While Dr Chris might not be able to help Vinnie out with his crippling anxiety, he can at least have some fun at another patient’s expense…

A bragging contest over 4x4 engines gets out of hand when Farmer Jim lets fly with… is that what I think it is?
