Everything you need to know about White House Plumbers
In this political drama, White House Plumbers follows the imagined behind-the-scenes story of two political heavyweights – E. Howard Hunt and G. Gordon Liddy – and how they accidentally toppled President Nixon’s administration with the Watergate scandal.
As “White House Plumbers”, tasked with plugging information leaks coming from the White House, the pair were fiercely protective of the presidency.
Starting in 1971, the satirical drama starts when Hunt and Liddy are hired to investigate the leak of the Pentagon Papers, and together they make their way up the career ladder, planning covert ops including bugging the Watergate complete, the home of the Democratic National Committee office.
What resulted was one of the greatest scandals in American political history, with the men later convicted of burglary, conspiracy and wiretapping.
Over the course of the series, White House Plumbers looks into what exactly went wrong with the men's plan, and how it tore down the presidency and their own families in the process.
