What is Vladimir about?
Vladimir follows a mysterious female professor at a liberal arts college whose writing career has come to a standstill after decades of writer’s block.
With her husband, John, in trouble with the law after previous affairs with his students came to light, she’s in a rut and feels like she’s losing control of the life that she’s leading. With no sexual drive and feeling like her age is affecting her sex appeal, she feels like she’s fading into the background – and then she meets Vladimir.
When the hot young writer joins the faculty team at the college, our leading lady finds herself reawakened by his presence. With her libido suddenly on overdrive, she quickly begins to fantasise about him, developing a frenzied obsession that consumes her as her life unravels.
As she speaks to the camera, we’re introduced to the unnamed professor’s inner world and thoughts as she weaves her way through her complicated tale… but how much of it can we trust, let alone those around her?
Based on the best-selling book by Julia May Jonas, Vladimir is an erotic thriller that challenges sexual desire, the power of lust and gender identity in the modern world.
