What is Temptation Island about?
Temptation Island is a reality series and the ultimate relationship endurance test, begging the question: are you able to resist temptation?
In each season, four unmarried couples at a crossroads in their relationship – either due to previous infidelity or wanting to move to the next level – agree to take part in the social experiment to prove their love for each other.
With the men and women sent into separate luxury villas, their new homes are filled with a dozen “temptations” – gorgeous singletons whose job it is to tempt them to cheat.
Without their partner around to see what’s happening, or to see what they’re doing, paranoia sets in for some, while for others they quickly find themselves questioning if their outside relationship is worth it.
Periodically, the groups head to the Fire Pit to gain some insight into what their partners are saying and doing… which escalates things even further.
At the end of their time on the island, they are given the choice: do they stay, or walk away?
Originally airing on Fox from 2001 to 2003, the series was revived by USA Network in 2018.
In 2025, the show was revived again, this time on Netflix, where it has aired two seasons to date.
How many episodes of Temptation Island are there?
Technically, there have been 10 seasons overall of Temptation Island.
However, on Netflix only the most recent two seasons are available – coming to 19 hour-long episodes (10 episodes for season one, 9 for season two).
Netflix confirmed in May 2026 that season three has been given the go-ahead, with a planned release date set to air in early 2027.
Who stars in Temptation Island?

However, the one consistent part of the series throughout all its variations in its lifespan is the host, Mark L. Wahlberg.
Not to be confused with the famous actor, Mark L. Wahlberg is an American television and game show host.
He’s previously hosted the US version of Antiques Roadshow, Market Warriors and The Moment of Truth.
He’s been married to his wife Robbi Morgan since 1987, and together they have two children.
