Hawkeye is named chief surgeon of the 4077th, to the great chagrin of Major Frank Burns. Jamie Farr is introduced as the cross-dressing Corporal Maxwell Q. Klinger. (S1 Ep4)

Hawkeye gets incensed when he learns Sgt Baker has purchased a 17-year-old girl from her family to be his 'Moose', or personal slave. (S1 Ep5)

The 4077th is asked to participate in a documentary film featuring 'false heroics.' Hawkeye and Trapper make their own movie after discovering that it's Army propaganda. (S1 Ep6)

Bananas, Crackers and Nuts: Hawkeye and Trapper decide that they need some R and R after an unusually long stretch in surgery. They agree that Hawkeye should feign insanity to fool Frank. (S1 Ep7)

Cowboy, the helicopter pilot, shakes off his own injuries due to his anxieties about an overdue letter from his wife. He fears she's left him for another man and plans to return home. (S1 Ep8)

The surgeons will do anything to get Colonel Henry Blake back when he is transferred to Tokyo and Frank starts imposing military discipline on the camp. (S1 Ep9)

Colonel Blake, Trapper and Hot Lips all have valuable articles stolen. The camp is searched and everything is found in Hawkeye's locker. (S1 Ep10)

Hawkeye and Trapper move a North Korean POW patient into the Swamp and discover that he has the same blood type as Frank. They secretly plan to steal some of Frank's blood. (S1 Ep11)

It's Christmas and Hawkeye writes to his father describing his life at the 4077th. Amid the tension of the operating room he can still trade jokes with Trapper. (S1 Ep12)

A new nurse admits after her birthday party that no one has ever cared for her. The nurses refuse to date until their lonely colleague Edwina gets a date, so the men draw straws. (S1 Ep13)

Radar has received a 'Dear John' recording from his fiancee and becomes depressed. Hawkeye and Trapper decide what Radar needs is another girl. (S1 Ep14)

To get some extra supplies for the local orphanage, Hawkeye and Trapper invent a fictional captain. The deception slowly grows until everyone believes Tuttle to be a real person. (S1 Ep15)
