What happens in Euphoria Season 3, Episode 5 ‘This Little Piggy’?

Warning: Major spoilers ahead

In a flashback to Nate’s brutal beating on his wedding night, Rue shares that the moment was secretly a relief to Cassie – as it gave her the opportunity to break free and follow her dreams.

In the present day, Cassie is throwing all her energy into her OnlyFans, doing increasingly lewd photoshoots to lure in followers.

After her encounter with social media star Brandon Fontaine at the party last week, she has gone viral with 17,000 new followers, and Maddy is working her hard as her manager. Together they put together custom video sessions, sell her used underwear, and cater to every whim from ASMR to JOI.

Pretty soon, Cassie’s made it to 50,000 subscribers, and she expands to appearing on podcasts to court controversy. Appealing to her manosphere demographic, she calls out “man hating women” and talks about how American men are being treated as “second class citizens”. While she gets hate for the comments, it only serves to draw more attention to her.

Despite it all, she still misses Nate, and wires him $35,000 to help him keep their home. Maddy warns if she doesn’t cut him loose soon, he could be entitled to 50% of everything she makes – and her career’s about to blow up.

This is made literal in a surreal homage to Attack of the 50 Foot Woman, where she grows to an enormous size and stomps over Los Angeles – and we add Giantess Fantasy (Macrophilia, if you’re wanting the official term) to the list of kinks she caters for.

Bringing Home the Bacon

After the heist at the Silver Slipper, Alamo is on the warpath. Not least of which because he feels Big Eddie, his accomplice of 15 years, betrayed him after getting shot by opening the safe. Bishop agrees, saying there’s nothing noble in a man who plays turncoat when he’s scared to die.

The others are split over whether his actions are defendable or not, but Alamo is becoming increasingly paranoid, asking if anyone else is a “Judas”.

Bishop is the only person playing it cool to come up with a plan. He instructs Rue to draw a map of Laurie’s farm, giving them the element of surprise when they attack. Meanwhile Alamo talks to himself in the mirror to gear himself up, before taking his frustration out on the younger lackey, Kidd, for getting him the wrong trouser size, thinking he did it to “make him feel small”.

Back in Los Angeles, Cassie spends time with Brandon at his TikTok mansion. He breaks the news to her that Maddy is not the manager and starmaker she’s making herself out to be – she’s just an assistant to a publicist. He tells her that she doesn’t need Maddy to have a successful career. Cassie insists Maddy is great at her job, but Brandon credits her success to him, claiming his tagging her at the party was the real reason her career has taken off. He tells her that Maddy has no real power, and he could do more for her if she moved under his roof and let him build her brand.

Cassie says Maddy’s her best friend, but he tells her to think about it, tagging her in a photo on Instagram to prove what impact he could have on her profile.

Meanwhile Maddy is cleaning dog poop off a carpet in the office rather than managing anybody. The agent comments that the “porn star” she used to manage, Katelyn, now has articles made about her and is worth millions, which just drives the frustration home to Maddy.

Cassie calls Nate back at home to discuss what she should do. The house is a mess – the maid has clearly been let go – and he’s struggling to get back on his feet, living off fast food and alcohol while lazing around all day listening to records. In a change of heart, he now fully endorsed Cassie’s OnlyFans career – as she has become his sole income. He encourages her to accept Brandon’s offer – even do some sexy (but tasteful) videos with him – to tap into his 30 million followers.

Cassie questions if it would make him jealous, but he says he’s a “businessman” and she needs to “capitalise” on the connection. She asks if she misses him, and he says he does and loves her. He follows this up by asking her to wire him money as soon as possible and “bring home the bacon.”

Misfortune Abounds

Alamo asks to see Rue privately, which scares her – and it’s made worse when Bishop shows up and starts putting on protective gear, including a plastic coat, shower cap and gloves.

He tells her he believes some people are cursed, bringing misfortune everywhere they go. He believes Rue might be one of them, as something about her gives him “the heebie-jeebies” and trouble has been around ever since she arrived. He then says Alamo is waiting for her at a bar and proceeds to head into the bathroom to dismember a captured man with a handheld saw.

Alamo is still in a low mood, playing trumpet and drinking whiskey as Kitty watches him from the sofa. He tells her Laurie has asked to meet and believes she is expecting him to “bend over” and give in to her. But it’s become about something more than business to him at this point. As Rue drives off, she passes Bishop, who is feeding the man he carved up to the pigs outside.

Rue meets up with the detectives at the DEA and shares what she knows, and they tell her to get invited to the meet up, and to call Laurie so she can incriminate herself and they can authorise a wiretap.

She does as she says, and on the phone apologises about the death of Paladin, saying she had no idea they were planning to kill him. Laurie says she never wants to speak to her again and hangs up. So Rue tries again, this time calling Wayne, another member of her gang, and manages to keep him on the phone long enough for him to incriminate the group by asking if she misses being their drug mule.

Striking A Deal

Maddy answers the phone to Cassie at the office, thus confirming she is an assistant rather than the manager she was making out to be. Cassie says they need to talk, and signs Brandon’s contract.

She arrives at Maddy’s very modest apartment and delivers a performative and pre-rehearsed statement where she tells her they will be parting ways, saying “it’s not personal, just business” and Brandon’s giving her an offer she can’t refuse. Maddy is entirely unmoved and accepts her decision before immediately getting on the phone. Two can play at this game.

She appears to speak to a casting agent and asks to cancel an audition she set up for her for LA Nights. Cassie, enamoured with the show’s leading man Dylan Reid, spirals into a panic and rescinds the firing immediately. Maddy then hands her a contract, which she signs without even looking at, before promising “not to let her down”.

Maddy, of course, was bluffing, and quickly reaches out to Lexi, begging to get her an audition. Lexi is hesitant as Cassie has no qualifications whatsoever – even for a minor role. However, knowing Maddy has some sway with the talent on the show, she relents.

At the audition, Cassie goes all out to impress the casting agents, deciding to read a monologue from Shakespeare’s Anthony and Cleopatra. When signing in, she decides to use her maiden name Cassie Howard, and makes the casting crew aware of her relationship to Lexi (who they know and like).

When Lexi arrives on set, she sees the director watching over the audition. She’s aware it’s Lexi’s sister, and chuckles at the lack of self-awareness. They continue to mock her as Lexi watches on, mortified.

Later, Lexi storms into her sister’s apartment while she packs used panties for paying customers. She scolds her sister for embarrassing her and for cashing in on their connection, but lets her know that her plan worked, and she has landed her first acting credit as “Job Applicant”. Despite it being a minor role, you wouldn’t know it the way that Cassie celebrates – telling her sister that one day they’ll look back at disbelief that she used to sell used underwear. Lexi calls her the biggest narcissist she’s ever known, but Cassie replies that that’s what you need to make it in this town. Lexi leaves in a rage, while Cassie decides to raise her OnlyFans prices.

A Late Payment

Rue spends time with Jules, who is still angry at her for ditching her at the wedding. Jules asks how many relationships she’s been in since high school, and Rue says she “can’t even count”, but her last one was with Angel (the stripper that she dropped off at the rehab facility and no one has seen since) which was “passionate but didn’t last very long.”

Jules asks what she’s doing there, because she always looks like she has something to say but never says it. She’s holding something back and she knows it and asks if Rue wants to kiss her. Rue plays it coy, and then asks why she would ask that when she has a sugar daddy who has put her in the apartment they’re sitting in.

Jules continues to persevere, saying if she wants her, she has to kiss her and “make her hers”. While it’s not clear if they do, later that night Ellis pays Jules a visit and they have sex.

When he gets into the shower, he notices a pair of boxer briefs and confronts Jules about having men in the house. She insists they belong to a female friend, Rue. Unconvinced, he angrily tells her that he allows her a lot of freedom, but sets the record straight - he “likes” Jules, but he “loves” his family, and he did not want to bring home an STD from men she was sleeping with, throwing the boxers in her face. She sits still, with tears in her eyes.

Cassie wires Nate $30,000 – but even with her help, Nate is already days late on his latest payment to Naz. While he celebrates the payment with another strong drink and a dance, one of Naz’s henchmen comes through the garden and smashes into the house with a golf club. Nate panics and runs into his upstairs bathroom, but the henchmen catches up to him, beats him to the floor, rips off his reattached toe, and cuts off ring finger as well for good measure.

Jesus Is Coming

At the Silver Slipper, Magick opens up her locker to find the drugs Rue planted in there. She heads to Alamo and furiously hands them over, sharing her concerns that Rue was a rat trying to frame her.

Magick says she tried to warn Big Eddie before the robbery, and that sparks Alamo’s interest, because he didn’t realise she was also there at the time. He asks if it’s weird that Rue would recognise the getaway driver from the surveillance footage, but not the voices of two of Laurie’s lackeys when she was in the room with them. Something doesn’t add up.

Rue meets up with Maddy at a diner and asks her how she can spend so much time with Cassie after so much bad blood between them. But Maddy is content with “things being exactly as they should be”, and her relationship with Cassie is business. She’s reached a state of peace, and it goes back to her religious faith. Rue says she’s reading the Bible, but hasn’t reached the pages with Jesus yet, and Maddy assures her “he’s coming”.

However, their discussion is interrupted by the arrival of Alamo. He introduces himself to Maddy, which gets Rue on edge, especially as he sits down next to her and takes her coffee as his own. Maddy asks if he’s Rue’s boss, and questions how they met, which makes Alamo joke that “either the God or the Devil sent her” but they haven’t figured out which yet.

Alamo makes comments about knowing who you work for, and if they’re for or against you, and Maddy asks him about the strip clubs he owns. He seems pleased that Maddy has heard about him, but when he gets a phone call, he instructs Rue to meet G and Bishop outside in the parking lot. Rue tries to get Maddy to leave, but she stays as her milkshake hasn’t arrived yet, and Alamo promises to keep Maddy company.

As G and Bishop drive off with Rue, the meeting between turns out not to be as threatening as you may think. Maddy shows no intimidation, and the two talk as equals, with her showing interest in his business and happily sharing her resentment of her father. He tells her a “good woman is supposed to push a man to make him aim higher” not that he’s ever found it. She tells him quantity is perhaps preventing him from finding quality.

When he asks about her business, she shares that the one thing stopping her right now is a lack of funding. He asks what she would do with money, and she tells him she’d do the same thing... but on a much bigger scale. She tells Alamo that while Hollywood movies made $8 billion last year, OnlyFans made $7 billion... that’s a lot of money being left on the table, but most are too afraid of the stigma. Alamo tells her he has no such qualms. Calling Cassie her “top girl”, she projects her earnings at $1 million over the next year. She takes a 15% cut, and that’s only because she’s a friend.

Alamo says he has girls just like Cassie, and on learning about the low overheads, he invites Maddy to the Silver Slipper. Should she want to take any of his girls on, they both get a 15% cut of their profits. They take Maddy’s car to the club, and on the way he asks about Rue. Maddy tells him she’s “a little crazy, but has a good heart”.

The Cost of Success

In the car, Bishop takes Rue’s phone from her as they drive to a remote location, where Kidd is waiting for them with a shovel. G then instructs Rue to start digging a hole until she’s throat deep. They then bury her in it, only leaving her head above ground.

Alamo introduces Maddy to his girls, who line up for her to view. She notes Magick’s neck brace, immediately guessing it to be some kind of insurance fraud scam, before picking her and Kitty to be her new girls. Alamo calls the pair “the cream of the crop” as they start talking business.

The next morning, Alamo tends to his horses at the stables. In the distance, Rue – who is still awake and buried – realises she’s by Alamo’s house, just as he starts charging towards her on horseback and swinging a polo mallet, in a panic she screams for help, but those around her are emotionless.

Just as Alamo reaches her and swings for her head, the episode cuts to black.
