Dune Prophecy: Episode Guide Hero Image

Welcome to Wallach IX: the home of the Bene Gesserit, aka the Sisterhood of Dune.

In this world, set millenia before the main Dune films, the Sisterhood hold massive social and political power, with the all-female group training their minds and bodies to the point of obtaining superhuman abilities.

Positions within the Bene Gesserit are exclusive and hard to come by, with the Great Houses often paying to have their women members of the group.

If they succeed, they are declared Reverend Mothers – but to many outside of this collective, these abilities can be seen as a sign of darkness akin to dark magic.

The Sisterhood’s main mission? Keep humanity on an enlightened path of righteousness – which is a lot easier said than done.

Dune: Prophecy - Episode Recap

Set more than 10,000 years before the events of the Dune movies, Dune: Prophecy follows two sisters as they prepare to join a collection of women known as the Sisterhood.

The Sisterhood serve the Great Houses of the Imperium, acting as truthsayers.

But after taking their vows, a series of events is triggered, that leaves everyone questioning what they think they know.

The first season is comprised of six, hour-long episodes.

Here’s how the episodes break down.

Episode 1: The Hidden Hand

At the start of the episode, we are introduced to Valya and Tula Harkonnen, who are both set to join the Sisterhood.

It doesn’t take long before Valya is given her first task by Mother Superior Raquella Berto-Anirul, who has a terrifying vision of the future she calls the Burning Truth.

Promising to ensure one of their own ends up on the Imperial Throne, it becomes her life’s mission.

Fast forward 30 years, and Valya, now Mother Superior, aims to stabilise the bloodline of Emperor Corrino by arranging the marriage of his daughter, Princess Ynez, to nine-year-old Pruwet Richese.

When one of the Sisterhood starts having visions, she’s dismissive, but a turn of events leads to a devastating loss, and Valya fearing Raquella’s vision may be coming true.

Episode 2: Two Wolves

Following the events of episode one, Valya recruits Theodosia to help manage the situation on Salusa Secundus, before making an attempt to contact the late Raquella through her great-great-granddaughter.

Desmond Hart has some confessions to make, making powerful friends and enemies in the process.

Meanwhile Lila has a new vision with catastrophic consequences, and anti-imperialist rebels start making plans.

Episode 3: Sisterhood Above All

A look into Valya and Tula’s past reveals a vengeance mission they’ve kept hidden – and what they did to enact it.

Set before Valya took the vow to join the Sisterhood, she has doubts of her commitment and desire to pledge loyalty to the group.

But a conversation with Raquella proves a catalyst for a new blind ambition.

Meanwhile, Tula decides to hide her Harkonnen connection as she forms a bond with Orry Atreides.

All this rises to boiling point in the present day, where the pair’s loyalties to each other and desire for power push their bond to the limit.

Episode 4: Twice Born

When other acolytes of the Sisterhood are revealed to be having nightmares, Tula makes it her mission to understand where they’re coming from.

Meanwhile, Valya plans to rehabilitate House Harkonnen before the great meeting of the Landsraad by becoming their truthsayer, but soon has to step in to save Javicco.

The truth about a murder begins to spread, while a secret Theodesia has been keeping is revealed to Valya.

Episode 5: In Blood, Truth

A Sister with imperial ties arrives on Salusa Secundus as the Corrinos appoint a new Bashar.

Valya sets her sight on a potential new member of the Sisterhood, as she continues to communicate with the late Raquella.

Desmond hunts insurgents following a tip and finds a new ally, as Tula discovers the truth about his heritage.

Episode 6: The High-Handed Enemy

As Tula grapples with the truth about Desmond’s real identity, she finds herself torn when she witnesses Valya’s latest actions.

Valya continues to make radical choices for the sisterhood, but it’s only time until the extent of what she’s done comes to light.

As things come to a head, Valya bears witness to some extreme measures before Tula tells her the truth of his heritage before a small group arrive on Arrakis.
