What is Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy about?

British rom-com favourite Bridget Jones returns for her fourth and final story of navigating life as a singleton in Mad About the Boy.

Since the third movie Bridget Jones’s Baby, Bridget and Mark Darcy became parents to two children, Billy and Mabel, and settled down into a simple suburban life. But in a heartbreaking twist to the hopeless romantic’s tale, Bridget finds herself a widow when Mark dies during a humanitarian effort.

Mad About the Boy picks up with Bridget four years on from Mark’s tragic death, as she makes it her mission to get back out into the dating world. But life as a single mum-of-two and a career woman gets even more complicated when you start throwing men into the mix as well.

With her friends by her side for support – including long-thought-dead ex-boyfriend Daniel Cleaver – Bridget puts on her big girl pants and starts seeing the world anew… and soon she finds herself attracting the attention of a younger man who may be just what she needs to get back into the saddle.
