There’s never a quiet day when it comes to the South Hill Ambulance service of Bloods – and these 16 episodes prove it.

With much of their day becoming a matter of life and death, the team are forced to figure out their work/life balance and deal with the stress the way they say fit.

With a whole load of heart and a lot of laughs along the way, obviously.

Here’s how the episodes play out.

Season One - Episode Recap

Episode 1 - Partners

After an awkward situation involving a defibrillator and his partner, Maleek is left less than impressed when he is reassigned with Wendy, a new team member from Nottingham. Soon they’re clashing over how to handle a crack addict as she deals with her first day on the job.

Meanwhile, team leader Jo tries to flirt with grieving widower Lawrence, before the team are called out to deal with a major car pile-up… where some awkward truths come to light.

Episode 2 - Air Ambulance

Maleek gets over-excited when he and Wendy get the chance to work alongside the helicopter service.

Wendy’s sexual desires now she’s single lead her to trying out Tinder, resulting in a connection. But she hasn’t quite figured out how to ghost someone yet…

Episode 3 - Daycare

Maleek gets a blast from the past when he runs into Nicole, an old crush who is now a single mum to a young boy.

Wendy seizes the opportunity to help him get close to Nicole, resulting in the kid suddenly coming with them in the ambulance for the day.

Episode 4 - Bike Patrol

After several errors in judgement, Jo decides to split up Maleek and Wendy.

Maleek is put on pushbike duty alongside Lawrence, while Wendy gets to know her boss as Jo shadows her for the day in observation.

But after work drinks results in a messy hangover as they realise what they’ve done. .

Episode 5 - Siren Song

Wendy discovers Maleek has a hidden talent and tries to encourage him to use it for good – but a past traumatic event has him reluctant to do so. But it’s her introduction to his father that truly causes trouble.

Seeking the opportunity to get ahead, Kareshma resorts to radical measures to get a letter of recommendation from Gary.

Jo takes her efforts to get Lawrence to notice her to the next level.

Episode 6 - Childbirth

As Maleek tries to deal with a tragedy, the team attempts to rally around him. With his partnership with Wendy left in tatters, the pair have to put their issues aside in order to deliver a baby on the underground.

Jo heads off on shift with Lawrence as they get closer and she encourages him to get back onto the dating scene.

A strange man arrives at the depot asking for a woman called Helen.

Season Two - Episode Recap

Episode 1

Wendy and Maleek find themselves in a hostage situation in a chicken shop.

Jo is left less than happy when her bosses hire a counsellor, George, for the team to help with their mental health even though she doesn’t think they need it.

Lawrence gets a new girlfriend – but is soon left worrying that he’s not sure what he’s doing, and finds himself missing his bond with Jo.

Kareshma and Gary respond to a call for unruly teenage cancer patient, Tasha.

Episode 2

Jo delights in making George as uncomfortable as possible as she makes herself at home.

Wendy’s son Spencer lands a job at the depot in a bid to impress her.

Maleek and Wendy are called out to a potentially devastating accident with a man trapped under a JCB.

Darryl discovers that his UK Visa is about to expire which could see him be forced back to Australia.

Episode 3

Maleek and Wendy find themselves out of their depth when they are sent to a school to lead a knife crime awareness workshop.

With his visa about to expire, Darryl looks into a green-card marriage to stay with his best friend.

Jo continues her fight to get Lawrence to notice her romantically, but is distracted when George forces her into a mental health session.

Gary and Kareshma are reunited with Tasha after she lashes out again.

Episode 4

Spencer’s self-entitled behaviour in the depot pushes everyone to the brink – forcing Wendy to step in.

Gary and Kareshma get on the wrong side of the nurses at the hospital.

The war between George and Jo grows as an unofficial complaint is made.

Episode 5

It’s New Year’s Eve and the team all have hopes for what lies ahead, though they’re running off their feet thanks to unruly drunks and disorderly behaviour.

George seizes the opportunity to keep an eye on Jo while on duty, while Maleek finds himself off his game with a flirty party attendee – but after misdiagnosing a patient, he and Wendy could be in big trouble.

Another run in with Tasha prompts Kareshma and Gary to step in. Darrell and Darryl make some major decisions about their future, and Jo thinks she may finally be in with a shot with Lawrence.

Episode 6

As a Serious Incident Investigation hangs over their heads, Wendy and Maleek try to ignore their troubles by working a shift at a football match.

Meanwhile, Lawrence is dealing with the fallout of New Year’s with Jo, prompting George to step in, and Darryl finds out about Darrell’s shady past.

Episode 7

Wendy and Maleek are forced to face the Serious Incident panel over what happened on New Year’s Eve, leaving their friendship in jeopardy.

Lawrence tries to get back on Jo’s good side and clear the air, but she’s distracted by a run-in with a cool new team of responders.

George speaks to Kareshma about her bond with the ailing Tasha.

Episode 8

Maleek and Wendy spend some time apart after the Serious Incident panel.

Jo is given a tempting opportunity to try something new in her career as a member of HART (Hazardous Area Response), but a call-out threatens to jeopardise it.

Meanwhile, Kareshma and Gary’s biggest fears are realised.

Episode 9

Jo gets to work at HART training, with Gary stepping up to becoming the man in charge in her absence - but Kareshma isn’t planning on making it easy for her.

With Wendy and Maleek back together, she wants to help him get her confidence back in the job.

Finally Lawrence decides to take affirmative action in sharing how he feels about a member of the team.

Episode 10

A new romance in South Hill ambulance station looks over before it’s begun when a big revelation is made.

Darryl and Darrell get some great news, and decide to throw a leaving party to celebrate.

George gives a presentation about the leadership of the depot which casts doubt on Jo’s future with the team.

As the party gets underway, tragedy strikes.
