Taking an intimate and emotional approach to missing persons cases, this series explores the human stories of unexpected loss, sharing the terrible moment at which each family learns that their missing loved one is now at the centre of a murder investigation. Contributions include testimony from family members, such as the inspiring Marie McCourt, who has campaigned for changes in the law following her daughter's murder, as well as forensic experts and investigators who worked to trace the missing and apprehend those responsible. Each episode features a separate tragedy, emphasising how frequently people disappear: a missing person is reported every 90 seconds, making these stories all the more chilling.
