Si King and Dave Myers fulfil the ambition of a lifetime as they set off on the most famous road trip of all: America's Route 66. Stretching from Chicago to Los Angeles, Route 66 was the first `superhighway' to connect east and west, and was a symbol of a changing, modernising America. The Bikers' journey takes place over six stages and in each they explore the food culture of the places they pass through, focusing on the diversity of America's multicultural cuisines and finding hidden gems known only to locals more than the well-known favourites of barbecue, brisket and fast food. The pair also enjoy meeting the people who make their living along the route, including farmers, the Chicago Italian community, and Navajo Native Americans.
