Bode Donovan (Max Thierot)
Bode Donovan once had a promising future ahead of him. But he burned it all to the ground. When a tragic accident claimed the death of his sister, Riley, Bode blamed himself and left his hometown of Edgewater, California, falling into a spiral of criminal behaviour, ultimately being jailed for the armed robbery of a liquor store. Looking to turn his life around and shorten his sentence, he enlists in the Cal Fire firefighting program, where he and other convicts assist the Fire Department in battling the raging, unpredictable wildfires that plague the region. To his shock, he is posted back at his hometown of Edgewater, where he must face up to what he left behind. Will the Cal Fire program give him a chance at redemption?
Bode is played by Fire Country’s creator and executive producer Max Thierot who developed the show based on his own experiences growing up in the wildfire-prone area of Northern California. Thierot also starred in the hit action-drama SEAL Team as Clay Spenser, directing two episodes during his tenure on the series.
Vince Leone (Billy Burke)
Vince Leone is a third-generation firefighter, the Battalion Chief of Edgewater 1508, and the father of Bode Donovan. He has a strained relationship with his troubled son, which culminates when his only daughter, Riley, is killed in a car accident with Bode behind the wheel. He blames Bode for her death and tells him to leave town and never return. This is the last time he sees Bode until his return as part of the Cal Fire program. Vince still has not forgiven Bode and warns those around him that he’s a loose cannon and cannot be relied on. However, Bode is not the only one who has to face the ghosts of the past. Having never told her about disowning their son, he must now tell his wife, Sharon, the truth about he was responsible for her losing both children on the same day.
Vince is played by actor and singer Billy Burke, known for his role as Charlie Swan in the Twilight series as well as TV series Revolution and Zoo.
Manny Perez (Kevin Alejandro)
Manuel “Manny” Perez is the fire captain in charge of the Cal Fire program prison inmates. Having had a troubled upbringing, Manny would find himself in jail after crashing a stolen car. He was, however, able to turn his life around through the Cal Fire program and hopes he can help others do the same. He is father to Gabriela, who he wants to see succeed with a life outside of Edgewater and is opposed to her interest in joining Cal Fire.
Manny is played by actor Kevin Alejandro, known for his roles in TV series Southland, True Blood, Arrow and Lucifer.
Gabriela Perez (Stephanie Arcila)
Gabriela Perez had the title of “Edgewater’s Golden Girl” thrust upon her when she represented the country at the Tokyo Olympics at diving. Cracking under the pressure, she managed only a 14th place finish, but to her surprise the town celebrated like she won gold. Her father Manny wants nothing more than to see her succeed as a professional diver and achieve global success, but the friendships she has built in Edgewater make her reluctant to leave – with her showing interest in following her father’s footsteps into Cal Fire, much to his chagrin. She is the girlfriend of Jake Crawford, but when Bode returns to the town, their connection makes her question their relationship.
Gabrila is played by Stephanie Arcila, best known for previous roles in the film Don’t Breath 2 and TV series Penny Dreadful: City of Angels.
Jake Crawford (Jordan Calloway)
Jake is Bode’s childhood best friend and a second-generation firefighter based in Edgewater. Jake was previously in a brief relationship with Bode’s sister, Riley. This did not end well, with Jake breaking up with her on her birthday, which was tragically one factor in the car crash that caused her death. Jake presents himself as charming and affable, but in reality, he is wracked with guilt over Riley’s death and still struggles with it to this day. Jake is in a relationship with Gabriela, but Bode’s return to Edgewater is about to change everything.
Jake is played by actor Jordan Calloway, best known for his role in the DC superhero series Black Lightning as the cyborg Painkiller.
Eve Edwards (Jules Latimer)
Everly “Eve” Edwards is a member of the Cal Fire team and a tenacious firefighter, serving alongside her childhood friend Jake under Vince’s leadership. She was the best friend of Riley Leone and has struggled with forging new relationships since her death. Jake has never told Eve the truth about the circumstances of Riley’s death and his own part in the tragedy. With Bode’s return to Edgewater, that truth soon comes to the surface and threatens Eve and Jake’s relationship, both personally and professionally.
Eve is played by actress, singer and musician Jules Latimer, known for her starring role in the Paramount + series Guilty Party alongside Kate Beckinsale.
