Everything you need to know about Fing!
From the mind of David Walliams comes the epic new family adventure, Fing!
Starting production in New Zealand, Fing! boasts an all-star cast including Taika Waititi, Blake Harrison and Mia Wasikowska and takes you on a wild jungle ride full of twists and turns.
Based on Walliams best-selling children’s novel, the film is co-written by Walliams and Kevin Cecil (Veep) with award-winning director Jeffrey Walker (The Portable Door, The Artful Dodger) at the helm.

What is Fing! about?
Fing! follows the story of librarians Mr. and Mrs. Meek, a married couple who will do anything to just want to make sure their beloved daughter, Myrtle, is happy.
However, Myrtle is never happy for long, and she always seems to demand more from them – and for her latest request, she decides she wants a rare creature called a Fing.
Desperate to keep her pleased, her parents head off on an adventure but to track one down, taking them to the furthest and darkest corners of the jungle.
But Myrtle should be careful what she wishes for, and soon she meets her match with a Fing which can be as much of a destructive monster as she is.
On top of that, the family must also battle it out with evil animal park owner, The Viscount, who is determined to own this rarest of creatures.
Who is in the cast of Fing! and where have we seen them before?
Mia Wasikowska (Alice in Wonderland, The Kids Are All Right) and Blake Harrison (The Inbetweeners, World on Fire) star as doting parents Maureen and Christopher Meek in the story.
Newcomer Iona Bell will play their troublesome daughter, Myrtle.
Taika Waititi (Jojo Rabbit, Thor Ragnarok) will join the cast as the evil Viscount who is also trying to track down Fing! while David Walliams will be appearing on screen as the Headmaster.
Speaking about the project, Walliams said: “Fing! is such a fun and visual story with so many flights of fancy and I can’t wait to see it come to life on screen.
“To have Taika join the cast is absolutely thrilling as well. He’s a fantastic comedy performer, writer and director and I know he’ll have enormous fun playing the villainous role of the Viscount.”

Where and when can I watch Fing!?
Fing! has officially started production at the time of writing (March 2025) at Screen Queensland Studios in Brisbane, Australia.
A release date is yet to be confirmed but will be available on Sky Cinema and to stream on NOW.
