Golden Globe nominated and Emmy and BAFTA Award-winning creator and showrunner George Kay (Hijack, Lupin, The Long Shadow) is bringing a bold new legal drama to Sky and NOW, WAR.

The eight-part series delves into the high-stakes lives of London’s most powerful lawyers as firms Cathcarts & Sons and Taylor & Byrne clash over a headline-grabbing legal battle, drawing ambitious young lawyer Jonathan “Johnny” Warren, played by Archie Renaux (Alien: Romulus, Upgraded), into a ruthless world where ambition is currency, betrayal is strategy and winning is everything.

Series one follows the explosive divorce of British tech entrepreneur Morgan Henderson (Dominic West) and international film star Carla Duval (Sienna Miller), as law firms Cathcarts & Sons and Taylor & Byrne stop at nothing to secure victory for their clients.

George Kay, creator and writer, said: “I am excited to be working with Sky and HBO - two homes for bold, ambitious storytelling - and our brilliant production team.

• Archie Renaux (Alien: Romulus, Upgraded) as Jonathan “Johnny” Warren.

At the time of writing (August 2025), there has been no confirmation regarding the age rating of WAR.

However, it is believed to contain adult themes and as such is unlikely to be considered suitable for children or younger ages.

Great news! Before season one has even been released, it has been confirmed WAR will return for a second season, which is currently under production.

The series will be an anthology, with each new season introducing a new messy legal case.

The cast will therefore be rotated for the second season, with information on what’s to come yet to be announced as of August 2026.

WAR will air on Sky and streaming service NOW in the UK, Ireland and Italy, and on Sky and WOW in Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

It will air on HBO and HBO Max in the US, and stream on HBO Max in Australia.
