The Bear is back – and kicking off with a radical new renovation to turn the hole-in-the-wall eatery into a fine-dining experience.

Picking up in the aftermath of the first season, Carmy, Sydney, Richie and the gang do everything they need to do to get The Bear off the ground as a brand new restaurant.

But with pressure mounting once again on Carmy, he questions where his focus should be. For the first time in years, he meets someone that leaves him second guessing his desire to put all his efforts into work.

The Bear picks up immediately after the season one finale, with the team coming together to start working on a brand new era for the restaurant.

As efforts to relaunch the restaurant begin, Carmy and Sydney work together to come up with a menu, while Sugar comes on board to keep an eye on renovations.

In need of more funds, the gang turns to Uncle Jimmy for help – but it comes with a huge catch that they might not be willing to risk.

As Sydney recruits one of the team to be her sous-chef, the deadline is on to get The Bear up and running.

Construction runs into a serious delay issue, which puts the team under even more stress than before.

Sydney meets up with her father, who is worried about her career trajectory.

Tina and Ebra begin studies at a culinary school, while Carmy finds an unexpected connection with an old school friend.

Carmy attends an AA meeting as he struggles with his work/life balance.

He and Sydney plan to scope out the competition as their menu begins to take shape, but a surprise call brightens his day, and he decides to make a choice away from the business.

Sydney gets words of advice about her choice of business partner – which she takes to heart once she returns to the restaurant.

With two months to go before the launch of The Bear, Sugar has some exciting personal news to share with Carmy.

Sydney gets to work trying to build up the team, while Richie and Fak continue to renovate the restaurant in time for launch.

Marcus heads to Denmark to hone his craft, bonding with another pastry chef called Luca in the process. By the time he returns, he has renewed inspiration and fresh feelings for a co-worker.

Sydney continues to put her all into creating the perfect menu, as her sous-chef thrives at culinary school. However, when Ebra stops attending, she begins to get worried.

Sugar asks for help from Uncle Jimmy to push through permits for the business.

Claire and Carmy head off on a trip together to get the liquor license for the restaurant, giving him a chance to be free of the pressure of work in the process.

When he brings her back to the restaurant to show her what he’s working on, they find chaos in their wake.

In a flashback episode, viewers are made privy to the loving, but extremely turbulent, dynamic of the Berzatto family.

Carmy returns from Copenhagen to spend time with his family for the holidays but finds his mother Donna in panic mode as she prepares a meal based on the Feast of the Seven Fishes for the large group gathered.

As the night wears on, he catches up with Mikey and Sugar and is pressured by his cousin to move to New York.

By the time dinner is served, tension among the group is at an all-time high, with emotions set to explode in a catastrophic way.

Richie spends time at fine-dining restaurant Ever to learn the ropes on how to run the business. Thinking it’s Carmy’s way of getting rid of him, he’s not too happy about it.

While he’s sceptical to begin with, he finds himself thriving and comes away with renewed optimism.

It’s 10 days until opening night. Carmy and Sydney panic as they struggle to pass the fire suppression test – and Sydney thinks Carmy’s focus isn’t in the right place.

Richie and Sugar make amends as they try to build up their front of house team.

After months of hard work, The Bear is ready to open to family and friends for a soft opening, but that brings its own pressures to the team.

While Sydney wants her father’s approval, Carmy stresses that they’re not as ready as they think and begins to make mistakes - including a major one that could ruin everything.

Sugar shares that she's invited someone that might not be welcome.

As the team open the books for reservations, they need to put the work in to ensure the business turns a profit, and Uncle Jimmy delivers a warning to Carmy as he helps them out.

With things settled and ready to go, it’s time for The Bear to open its doors. .

As the family and friends night kicks off, things start smoothly before errors start coming up. The most major one? Carmy getting stuck in the broken walk-in refrigerator.

With the team having no choice but to go on without him, Carmy is left powerless to help but desperate to keep control on proceedings. His meltdown is overheard by the wrong person and leads to an argument.

Donna arrives but is scared to go in and see how her children have done, before discovering Sugar’s pregnancy.

As Sydney gets some much-needed reassurance, Marcus misses an important call.
