Going Straight

First episode in the sequel to classic prison sitcom Porridge. Fletcher prepares for freedom, but wonders how he will cope with life on the outside.

Fletcher pays his first visit to his parole officer to break some bad news. Later, his plans to dig up a little buried nest egg go pear-shaped.

Fletch meets a teenage runaway and tries to pass on a few words of wisdom. However, on taking her home he soon feels cause to regret his good deed.

Fletcher's probation officer gets him a job as a night porter at a small hotel, but the prospect of doing an honest job gives the ex-con cold feet.

When an elderly lady checks into the hotel and asks for her jewellery to be put in the safe, Fletcher becomes convinced a conman he used to know is up to his old tricks.

Fletcher finds out his ex-wife and her boyfriend are planning to pay for Ingrid's wedding reception and spots a chance to make some easy money.
