A spin-off of `Star Trek: The Next Generation', `Deep Space Nine' is set on a space station orbiting the planet Bajor. This time, Commander Benjamin Sisko is in charge of a diverse crew. But unlike other `Star Trek' series, there's no USS Enterprise to help them. Sisko and the crew must fight off rival alien species who want control of Deep Space Nine because of its strategic position close to a wormhole, which allows speedy travel to the far reaches of space.

Kira's past is brought to light when a Bajoran terrorist she knows arrives on DS9. He brings trouble with him, in the form of Cardassian troops. (S1 ep, 3)

Episode 4Babel

The ship falls victim to chemical warfare, when a virus intended to be used against the Cardassians by the Bajorans is accidentally released. (S1, ep 5)

Episode 5Captive Pursuit

For the first time since their arrival, the crew witness an alien arriving from through the wormhole. O'Brien tries to discover the alien's secret. (S1, ep 6)
