Following on from earlier seasons of the series based in northern England, and later Scotland, `Waterloo Road' returns to screens after an extended absence, with the setting now being a high school in Greater Manchester. The refreshed version of the show features some familiar faces, including Angela Griffin as Kim Campbell, the harassed headteacher. The series tackles a range of issues facing teenagers today such as racism, sexism, being LGBTQ+, coping with mental health issues, and the cost-of-living crisis. They are helped along the way teachers and parents as Kim struggles to maintain control.
