Rose and her mother arrive at the hotel to evaluate a prospective marriage with Lucian, but his mother, Bella, has more immediate worries - a critical guest has fallen ill.

Cecil arranges for a family heirloom to be sent from England for authentication, but Bella is horrified when he also invites her blackmailer for tea to thank him for his help.

Lucian and Anish run into trouble with Danioni's Blackshirts and must be rescued by Gianluca, and Rose lets her hair down with Lucian - but disgraces herself in Julia's eyes.

Nish and Lucian narrowly escape arrest for political subversion. Constance manages to catch Lucian's eye during a boat trip, but sees more than she bargained for in return.

As the local police search the hotel for the missing heirloom and various guests and employees come under suspicion, Cecil finally confronts Bella over her compromising letter.

The mystery of the missing heirloom is resolved and the investigation is closed. Later, a secret from Constance's past comes to light and Cecil attempts to reconcile with Bella.
