A series of novels written by Peter Robinson are the basis for this crime drama programme featuring DCI Alan Banks. The title investigator works alongside DS Annie Cabbot, along with other detectives, to solve crimes that range from murder to armed robbery and kidnapping. Each novel is split up into two hourlong episodes of the show. `Wednesday's Child', `Strange Affair' and `Playing With Fire' are among the Robinson books that have been turned into `DCI Banks' stories.

Episode 5Undertow: Part 1

Crime drama. Banks breaks all the rules as the team begin the painful job of finding out exactly who was responsible for the incident that affected their lives. Contains violence from the outset.

Episode 6Undertow: Part 2

Crime drama series. Helen is forced to choose between career ambition and loyalty to her team, and Banks must grapple with dark emotions to discover the truth. Contains scenes of violence.
