A series of novels written by Peter Robinson are the basis for this crime drama programme featuring DCI Alan Banks. The title investigator works alongside DS Annie Cabbot, along with other detectives, to solve crimes that range from murder to armed robbery and kidnapping. Each novel is split up into two hourlong episodes of the show. `Wednesday's Child', `Strange Affair' and `Playing With Fire' are among the Robinson books that have been turned into `DCI Banks' stories.

Episode 1Wednesday's Child

Gritty detective series. When two bogus social workers come to Katy Heath's house and take her son away, Banks is drawn into a search for the boy. Contains moderate language.

Episode 2Wednesday's Child

An 11-year-old's body is found and Banks wonders if there is a connection between his death and Kyle's disappearance. Contains some moderate language and violence.

Episode 3Piece of My Heart

When a journalist is found dead in a remote village, Banks notices a connection between the case and a mysterious death in the 1980s. Contains some moderate language.

Episode 4Piece of My Heart

Banks races to locate a mysterious recording that appears to connect Jack Barber and the members of The Crystal Kiss together. Contains some moderate language and the aftermath of a hanging.

Episode 5Bad Boy

Bad Boy - Part One: Gritty detective series. The discovery of a gun in the bedroom of a neighbour sees Banks involved in an internal investigation that could break up the team. S3 Ep5

Episode 6Bad Boy

Bad Boy - Part Two: Crime drama series. While Helen's career hangs in the balance, Banks risks everything to rescue his daughter who has been taken hostage by Jaff Kitson. S3 Ep6
