• Canadian TV series YAGA centres on the story of Detective Rapp, who heads to a small coastal town to investigate the disappearance of fishery heir, Henry Park.
• However he soon finds himself caught up in a twisted tale involving a folklore legend named Baba Yaga.
• YAGA is Hudson Williams’s first major role since smash-hit Heated Rivalry, playing the missing Henry.
• He will be joined in the cast by Schitt’s Creek’s Noah Reid as Rapp, and The Matrix’s Carrie-Ann Moss as Katherine, a seductive university professor with whom Henry is entangled with.
• YAGA will launch on October 31st exclusively on Sky Atlantic, and will run for eight half-hour episodes.

In YAGA, private investigator Rapp arrives in a small coastal town on a mission to investigate the disappearance of Henry Park, the young heir to a powerful fishery.

However, once there, he finds himself at odds with the locals – including Carson, an apprehensive detective, and Katherine, a university professor who has a penchant for younger men.

As the list of suspects grows, so do the reveals as secret lives and ties to ancient magic leave Rapp second guessing everything he knows.

Originally created as a play by Kat Sandler in 2019, YAGA puts a new twist on the old myth of Baba Yaga – a witch-like woman from traditional Slavic folklore who resides in a house with chicken legs, deep within woodlands.

This mystery thriller is produced by Front Street Pictures and Blink49 Studios in partnership with Canadian TV network, Crave.

YAGA forms part of a bold line-up of Sky Originals and Exclusives coming to Sky and NOW screens in 2026 and beyond. From gripping dramas and films to big entertainment and compelling documentaries, Sky continues to champion distinctive storytelling alongside world-class talent - delivering the must-watch moments set to define the year ahead.

YAGA will run for eight episodes in total, each around 30 minutes in length.

At the time of writing (July 2026) there are currently no plans to extend the series, but we’ll let you know if that changes!

YAGA is loosely based on the mythical Baba Yaga, a supernatural witchlike woman from Slavic folklore, with stories dating back hundreds of centuries.

Some Russian stories have a version of Baba Yaga dating back to the 17th century.

The story has changed over time, with Baba Yaga being portrayed as both a villain and a hero depending on the retelling of the story.

In some iterations, she is a cruel witch who tries to kidnap and eat children, while in others she is seen as a saviour and help for those around her.

In all versions of the story, she is an old woman with supernatural abilities who lives in the woods in a hut balanced on chicken legs.

YAGA will run for eight episodes in total, each around 30 minutes in length.

At the time of writing (October 2026) there are currently no plans to extend the series, but we’ll let you know if that changes!

YAGA is yet to be given an official age rating.

However, it is expected that due to the story’s nature, it will be aimed towards an adult audience, and as a result will be unsuitable for children.
