What is Vanderpump Rules about?
Vanderpump Rules follows the lives of the hot, young 20-somethings who work at Lisa Vanderpump’s restaurants and bars in West Hollywood.
Central to these restaurants is SUR, a restaurant and lounge which Lisa declares is “the kind of place you take your mistress”.
Filled with staff who are trying to find their feet in the world, in some cases even establishing their own careers in showbusiness, SUR becomes a hotbed of romantic entanglements, complicated friendships and a whole lot of drama.
Originally billed as a semi-spin-off of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, which Lisa starred in, this series initially focused on Scheana – a then 20-year-old woman who starts working at SUR after it was discovered she had been having an affair with the husband of Lisa’s co-star, Brandi Glanville.
However, Vanderpump Rules (often shortened to VPR) took on a life of its own thanks to its larger-than-life, scandal-filled friendship group who worked all day and partied (and argued) all night.
First launching in 2013, VPR has since become a worldwide must-watch for reality TV fans – with scandals within the group becoming international news over the course of the show, and its stars forming successful reality TV and presenting careers.
