Filming locations used in The Lazarus Project
London
With the show being set in London, and the headquarters of the eponymous secret agency based just off Tottenham Court Road, it’s no surprise to see some famous landmarks from the capital during the series, including tourist hotspot Piccadilly Circus.
Bristol
It may come as some surprise to fans of the series is how much of it was shot in Bristol, with parts of the city doubling for London, Romania and even Paris, with many of the getaway sequences and stunts being performed there.
Line producer Darren Green said: “Bristol centre and surrounding areas work well for doubling up as London streets and bars and clubs. Some of the larger buildings throughout the city centre replicate the look of London buildings and streets. Filming in Bristol has always been a pleasure, with Bristol Film Office, the community and local businesses willing to help and be helpful. “
One Bristol suburb even had to undergo a period change for the purposes of the show. One segment of the series sees a flashback to Shiv’s adolescence in the 1990s. This saw Bedminster’s East Street transformed into a 1990s high street, complete with era-appropriate bookies and electronic shops. Super Mario World, anyone?

Prague and Postoloprty – Czech Republic
Prague is quickly becoming a popular location for oversea filming, and serval pivotal scenes of the series were filmed there. Also of note was the much smaller town of Postoloprty, which is the location for the Romanian scenes where George attempts to hunt down the missing nuclear warhead “Big Boy”.
Barcelona, Spain
When George turns rogue and seeks out someone who can help him being the world to an end, he heads to Spain and finds ex-Lazarus member Janet. These scenes were based in Barcelona, and you’ll be able to pick out a number of recognisable locations on his mission, including the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art, Casa Milà, Palau de la Música Catalana, The Cathedral of the Holy Cross and St. Eulalia, and Hospital de Sant Pau.
