The 100 Day Split
Would you put your relationship to the ultimate test? Watch exclusively on Sky and NOW.What is The 100 Day Split about?
In a daring social experiment on relationships and romance, The 100 Day Split is a brand new reality show that follows six couples as they reach a crossroads in their lives.
The 100 Day Split will follow these long-term couples as they part ways for a hundred days, with their connection tested as they discover themselves as individual people away from their established relationship.
The series is designed to help participants try to rebuild their connection, reminding them of why they first fell in love in the first place, but at the same time learn to reassess their own personal needs and who they are outside of their partnership.
Across the 12-episode series, each participant will learn to live alone, focus on themselves, and revisit passions they may feel they’ve lost. Through emotional distance from their long-time anchor, they will learn to understand what they want out of life, and if they will be able to continue forward in life as a couple.
Guiding them through their experiment is a team of relationship counsellors and therapists, with the test itself rooted in a theory that 100 days provides time and space to settle conflicts and provide a period of reflection as they establish unfamiliar patterns and face facts they may have been burying.
After 100 days, each couple will reunite, but will time apart reignite the spark that first brought them together and allow them to renew their relationship and fix any unaddressed issues? Or will they discover they’d be happier apart?
Lily Wilson, Managing Director, Bright Entertainment said, “We are thrilled to be working with Sky on this landmark new series - a relationship show that we’ve never seen before.
“We’ll see couples tackle authentic relationship issues that viewers will really relate to and learn a huge amount from as they explore life apart. We can't wait to bring it to people's screens next year.”
Shirley Jones, Commissioning Editor said “I'm delighted to be working with Bright Entertainment on this project. The routines and habits that develop in long-term relationships will feel very familiar to many people, so it’s fascinating to explore what might happen when those patterns are suddenly disrupted.
“Every time we’ve discussed the show, the question ‘what would you do?’ has sparked lively debate, and everyone seems to approach it differently - which makes it all the more intriguing to see how things unfold.”
