Steven Frayne, fresh from saying goodbye to the name Dynamo, is bringing some magic to the Christmas period with new Sky Original series, Miracles.

In this epic 90-minute special, Miracles will see Steven push himself to the limits with an astonishing climax as he prepares to take the ultimate risk with a death-defying stunt.

Vowing the “miracle to end all miracles”, Miracles will be filled of inspiration and wonder as he defies logic to bring his must-watch act to the world.

Phil Edgar-Jones, Executive Director of Sky’s Unscripted Originals, said: “Spending time with Steven Frayne is a truly magical experience, so get ready for a rollercoaster of emotions as he unlocks the magic in all of us this Christmas.”

Who is Steven Frayne?

Steven Frayne, who until last year was known under the stage name Dynamo, is a magician from the UK.

Born in Bradford in 1984, Frayne was originally taught magic tricks by his grandfather, developing a love for the art that never left.

He was given his moniker after being called a “dynamo” while performing in New York in 2001 alongside esteemed names David Blaine and David Copperfield.

Launching his career professionally in 2004, Frayne started earning his name by working backstage at events, gaining celebrity fans in the process after performing magic for them, which he would upload to YouTube.

In 2011, he launched TV series Dynamo: Magician Impossible, which ran for four seasons totalling 17 episodes.

He has also made numerous TV appearances and released a number of specials.

Steven has been open about having Crohn’s disease, and often advocates for charities in relation to research and support for those who have been diagnosed.

Why did Steven Frayne stop calling himself Dynamo?

Saying goodbye to the name for good, Steven released a Sky Original special, titled Dynamo Is Dead in December 2023.

Speaking on the Diary of a CEO podcast, he explained: “I had so many problems that I couldn't figure out how to even solve one of them. I felt if I'm not here, then everybody else might be happier.

“I realised then the Dynamo we know, it needed to die, and I'm finally feeling it again. Now I just need to get magic back in my life.”

Dynamo Is Dead saw Steven talk to famous faces and wellbeing experts about mental health, while opening up on his own struggles.

In a climax of the show, which was aired live, Steven literally buried himself alive, essentially burying the Dynamo name before re-emerging as Steven Frayne.

What else can I see Steven Frayne in?
