Sneaks follows the story of Ty and Maxine - a pair of Alchemy 24 designer trainers who live a life of luxury and comfort, complete with living in a velvet-lined box.

But while they’re both cut from the same cloth, Ty and Maxine could not be more different. While Ty is happy with his protected life, Maxine is desperate to hit the ground running and go on an adventure.

Tragedy strikes though when the pair are separated after being won in a raffle by teenager Edson, with his prize stolen by a mysterious figure known as the Collector. With Maxine now in danger, Ty is forced to venture out into the world, and onto the streets of New York, to rescue her.

Soon, he’s teaming up with shoes from all walks of life - and all five of New York’s boroughs - he discovers adventure and the joys of life outside of the (shoe)box… and even finds a sole-mate in the process.

Conceived as a love letter to sneaker culture and the city where it all started, New York, New York, Sneaks races through the back rooms and side streets of a secret sneaker underworld that lives just below our ankles. And sometimes, even on our feet!

Whether flesh and bone or leather and lace, these characters take a journey of discovery that leads them to moments of excitement, danger, joy and despair.

In the end, they learn there’s real value in getting a little worn, and that a life well lived is almost always lived outside the box.

The Sneaks team has collected an all-star cast of musicians and actors to lend their voice to the animation.

For actors, this includes:

• Anthony Mackie (Avengers: Endgame, Black Mirror: Striking Vipers) as Ty – a box-fresh Alchemy 24 shoe who knows he’s cool.

• Chloe Bailey (Swarm, Grown-ish) as Maxine, Ty’s sister who is desperate for some adventure and life away from being a collectible.

• Keith David (Nope, Armageddon, The Thing) as O.G., an original Chuck Taylor converse shoe.

• Laurence Fishburne (The Matrix, Black-ish) as “The Collector” - an obsessed collector of shoes and sneakers of all size, shape and style. However, he’s found himself in the grips of “The Forger”.

• Martin Lawrence (Bad Boys, Big Momma’s House) as J.B. – a well-worn shoe who has been around the block in his life. A hustler by nature, J.B. is street smart and knows his way around NYC.

• Kiana Ledé (Scream: The TV Series) as Edson’s mom.

• Amari McCoy (Pretzel and The Puppies, Minions: The Rise Of Gru) as Shanika.

• Rico Rodriguez (Modern Family) as Ice.

• Jonathan Kite (Two Broke Girls, Black Dynamite) as Whiz and Lucas.

NBA star Chris Paul has also been confirmed to be involved in the project as well.

On top of the star-studded list of actors on the project, Sneaks also features some cameo appearances and voices of famous hip-hop and R’n’B singers including:

• Swae Lee as Edson, a young boy who dreams of playing pro basketball, but right now just really wants a pair of Alchemy 24 shoes.

• Roddy Ricch as The Forger, a mysterious and villainous figure who wants a pair of Alchemy 24s in order to tear them apart and make his own counterfeits.

• Macy Gray as Adriana, a good-looking shoe with a heart of gold and A-list social life.

• Quavo

• Ella Mai as Britany, a beautiful Oxford shoe and Queen of NYC gossip.

Producer Mustard is acting as music coordinator on the project as well - and with the synopsis boasting the film will be a celebration of New York’s hip-hop and music scene, there’s no way we’ll go without one killer soundtrack.

Six-time GRAMMY-nominated artist Terrace Martin, will provide the original score. Renowned as being one of the top jazz musicians in the world, Martin has become a creative engine at the epicentre of LA's progressive hip-hop scene.

Sneaks is a family-friendly cartoon adventure – so most children should be able to watch it without a worry.

However, there is parental guidance for:

• Mild peril and dangerous scenarios (for a shoe)

• Mild innuendo or suggestive comments

Sneaks will be walking on to Sky Cinema from March 28th.
