Rob and Romesh Vs. - Series 9 Guide

Rob and Romesh Vs… is back and they’re ready to tackle a new set of challenges, not just in this world, but the world beyond.

Their travels see Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan travelling across China, France and the United States in order to investigate and immerse themselves into tight-knit communities – whether they be bonded by the sport of bowling, believe they’re vampires, or share a love of cycling.

No challenge is too big for Rob and Romesh as they try to achieve childhood dreams and even find a new skill they didn’t know they had.

Here’s how the series plays out.

Here’s what the duo got up to during series 9.

Kickstarting the series, Rob and Romesh head to China to learn the art of Kung Fu – which was a passion for Romesh as a child.

Immersing themselves in the ancient martial art, the pair train with Jet Li’s stuntman Paco Yick in Hong Kong and visit the legendary Shaolin Monastery.

To cap off the trip, they need to put their new skills to the test by performing in the Shaolin Zen Music Ritual – Shaolin’s biggest martial arts show.

In the series finale, Rob and Romesh head to Paris, France after being invited to race in the iconic final stage of the annual cycling competition.

Cycling against the legendary Sir Mark Cavendish, and even given a head start, the pair form a peloton (cyclist group in a race, not the exercise bike) alongside fellow comedians and friends, Josh Widdecombe and Tom Davis.

Will they be able to come out on top?

In a Halloween-themed episode, Rob and Romesh turn Ghostbuster and head to New Orleans to immerse themselves in the supernatural community there.

On a mission to see if the supernatural is real, the pair head on ghost hunts and meet people who declare themselves to be real life vampires.

Finally, the pair attempt to contact the dead – specifically, Romesh’s musical hero, the Notorious B.I.G. Will they be successful?

Rob and Romesh head to the US to take on the world of competitive ten-pin bowling.

Taken under the wing of the Troup family – led by patriarch and Pro Bowlers Association (PBA) Hall of Fame member Guppy Troup – the pair learn the ropes with intensive training.

They then hit the road and head to Atlanta, Georgia to compete in the UBA Civil War – the Underground Bowling Association’s televised competition event.
