PONIES

These two women are about to become the CIA’s best kept secrets. Coming to Sky and NOW this May.

What is PONIES about?

In 1977 Moscow, Bea and Twila find themselves widowed when their husbands are killed under mysterious circumstances.

Determined to know what happened, these two “PONIES” – Persons of No Interest in the world of intelligence – trade in their desk jobs at the American Embassy to become CIA operatives.

They’re perfect for the job as, after all, who would expect a pair of women to be spies in the 1970s USSR? Banding together against fierce odds, Bea and Twila fight side-by-side to get answers.

Soon, they find themselves embroiled in a massive conspiracy within the USSR and come face-to-face with members of the KGB, but are determined to solve the mystery about what happened to their husbands as the Cold War rumbles on.

This brand new espionage thriller is co-created by David Iserson (Mr. Robot, New Girl) and Susanna Fogel (The Flight Attendant, The Spy Who Dumped Me).

It was released in January 2026 in the US on streaming service Peacock, with Sky becoming its exclusive home in the UK and Ireland from May 2026.

Praised by critics, PONIES earned an impressive 96% score on review aggregate site RottenTomatoes upon its release. USA Today declared: “[PONIES is] that kind of unfussy, easy going but still absolutely thrilling, action series that you can't wait to sit down and watch because it's such a joyous ride.”

PONIES forms part of a bold line-up of Sky Originals and Exclusives coming to Sky and NOW screens in 2026 and beyond. From gripping dramas and films to big entertainment and compelling documentaries, Sky continues to champion distinctive storytelling alongside world-class talent - delivering the must-watch moments set to define the year ahead.
