Mountainhead: The Cast & Characters Hero Image

When a new patch rolls out on social media app Traam an international crisis is triggered - the likes of which the world has never seen.

As turmoil unfolds around them, four tech-mogul best friends, who dub themselves “the Original Brewsters”, head to Utah for a weekend away playing poker in a luxury retreat.

But as nations verge on the edge of collapse and war breaks out, net worths begin to fluctuate, egos get bruised and tensions mount as the four begin to question how to control the future of humanity from their phone screens.

It’s only a matter of time before their world changes as they know it.

Here are the “Original Brewsters” and how exactly they’ve influenced this off-kilter version of the world.

Randall Garrett

Played by: Steve Carell (The Four Seasons, The Patient)

Starting Net Worth: $63 billion

The oldest member of the group, Randall is someone who sees everything positively – even a violent global crisis. This is mainly because he believes he can buy his way out of anything, seeing his money as power. Despite being told by multiple doctors that he has cancer he refuses to believe his days are numbered, believing surely his money can help him cheat death too – maybe even live forever.

Hugo “Souper” Van Yalk

Played by: Jason Schwartzman (Scott Pilgrim Vs The World, Bored to Death)

Starting Net worth: $521 million

The owner of the 21,000sq ft. Mountainhead retreat, “Souper” is desperate to impress the rest of his friends - especially Venis, giving up his primary room for him. As the poorest of the group, this affects both his ego and decision-making. He has made his money off a ‘lifestyle super-app’ called Slowzo.

Venis Parish

Played by: Cory Michael Smith (Saturday Night, May December)

Starting Net worth: $220 billion

The arrogant owner of Traam – a social media platform being connected to increased violence across the world. Specifically, content creation and messaging with features added in a Beta rollout that include deepfake tools being used to stoke race wars. Recently divorced, he insists he ‘got married as a joke’. He starts the weekend wanting to convince Jeff to sell his AI company to him to use on Traam, and asserting his business is a net good, despite the catastrophes currently going on.

Jeff Abredazi

Played by: Ramy Youssef (Poor Things, More Feelings)

Starting Net Worth: $57 billion

Owner of an AI company that has excelled ‘BILTER’ filters in being aware of fraudulent and dangerous behaviour. Has a bit of beef with Venis after some harsh words on a podcast, with the retreat being their first time seeing each other since. He’s also not a ‘Yes Man’. He makes himself known to be opposed to Traam’s Beta rollout and is more morally divided over what their tech has done to the world.
