What you need to know about Industry

● Industry is a gritty drama following a group of up-and-coming bankers in the cutthroat world of the UK financial industry.

● With hard work just as important as hard partying, Industry centres on Yasmin Kara-Hanani and Harper Stern, two women trying to make it in the male-dominated industry.

● The series stars Marisa Abela and Myha'la as Yasmin and Harper, with Ken Leung as their mentor.

● The supporting cast includes Sarah Parish, Kit Harrington, David Jonnson and Harry Lawtey.

● First launching in 2020, Industry has since expanded beyond the trading floor to incorporate the wider financial market and questions the true cost of success in an industry where weaknesses can be a killer.

● The series has run for four seasons and will end with its fifth and final season which is set to air in 2027.

What is Industry about?

Industry welcomes you into the twisted world of finance, trust funds and deception – where you can trust no one and only the most cutthroat survive.

As the series begins, investment bank Pierpoint & Co welcomes a group of young graduates who are brought onto the trading floor – including wealthy Yasmin Kara-Hanani, and hard-grafting New Yorker, Harper Stern.

Mentored by industry veteran Eric Tao, both are intent on making their mark by any means necessary, and with a six-month deadline for them to secure their position in the team or be let go, they need to keep their wits about them.

But as they are pulled further into the demanding world of the UK financial sector, friendships give way to professional competition as they will do anything to rise in the ranks.

Away from the office, drugs and alcohol flow freely as they work with the rich and entitled, causing even more complications as playing hard proves just as important as working hard.

Just what exactly is the cost of success and power, and are they willing to pay it?

Since its release in 2020, Industry has earned eight awards, including a BAFTA for Best Actress for Marisa Abuela, and Best Drama in 2025 by the Royal Television Society.

It maintains a near-perfect 91% score on critics’ aggregate site RottenTomatoes.

How many episodes of Industry are there?

Industry has run for a total of four seasons, amounting to 32 episodes.

All seasons have eight episodes each, which run for an hour in length.

Will Industry return for season 5?

Yes! But unfortunately, it will be the show’s last.

In February 2026, show creators Mickey Down and Konrad Kay confirmed the series will be ending with season five in a joint statement thanking HBO, the BBC and production company Bad Wolf for helping bring the show to life.

They wrote in part: "For some time now we have been thinking about how best to end the show on an unparalleled high. Unlike some of our characters, we know when to leave a party.

"We’d like to thank our evangelical fan base, especially those who have watched from day one.

"Finally: we owe everything to our crew and the best cast on TV for making our writing live. The characters will live on because of their world-class performances.

“Seeing the HBO ident in front of our work will never stop being a thrill. It remains the best place to make television, and we look forward to continuing our collaboration well into the future."

The final season is set to air in 2027, though a release date is not yet known.
