House of Kardashian

House of Kardashian: A brand new documentary about the world-famous family

Featuring first hand testimony from some of those within the Kardashian-Jenner inner circle including Caitlyn Jenner herself – House of Kardashian challenges the audience to think about the power and influence the family wields.
So, strap in as this documentary will leave you questioning where the Kardashian power will take them and the legacy that will be left behind.

What are the Kardashians famous for?
Well, that’s the million-dollar question! The Kardashians have long been referred to as being ‘famous for being famous’ and whilst you could go back and forth over whether this is true, what they’re most known for is their reality TV show Keeping Up with the Kardashians. The reality TV show was broadcast on the E! network channel and ran for over 20 seasons before it ended in 2021. By Season 6 of Keeping up with the Kardashians, the show was being broadcast in 156 countries around the world.
KUWTK gave the Kardashians a platform from which to explore other business ventures, with the family being prominent in many fields within the entertainment industry – from TV and fashion to beauty and business.
The Kardashian / Jenner Family Tree
The Kardashian – Jenner family is large, so you’d be forgiven for forgetting how many of them there are. So let us try and break it down for you…
Kris Jenner with her first husband, lawyer Robert Kardashian, had four children – three daughters, Kourtney, Kimberley and Khloe and son, Robert Jr. After separating from Robert, Kris met Olympic decathlete Bruce Jenner (now Caitlyn), who himself had four children from previous relationships – Burt, Cassandra, Brandon and Brody. Together Bruce and Kris had two daughters, Kendall and Kylie.
And then there were grandkids thrown into the mix. Kourtney has three children, Mason, Penelope and Reign – with a fourth on the way; Kim has four children, North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm; Khloe has two children, True and Tatum; Robert has one daughter Dream and Kylie has two children, Stormi and Aire.
How do the Kardashians make money?
Where to even start? After years in the industry, the Kardashians have evolved their income stream from reality TV to numerous endeavours including apps, make-up, clothing lines, brand endorsements…the list is endless.
In 2019 and just 21-years-old, Kylie Jenner was named by Forbes as the world’s youngest self-made billionaire. This was largely due to her successful beauty line – Kylie Cosmetics – which she created using the money she’d earned from her role on Keeping Up with the Kardashians. It later emerged that her net worth was closer to 900 million, just shy of the 1 billion mark, but still pretty good going if you ask us?
Kim Kardashian was officially named a billionaire by Forbes in 2021, due to her success with beauty line KKW Beauty – which has since been closed down and replaced by skincare line SKKN – and popular shapewear company Skims. Other income streams of note include her ‘kimojis’, perfumes and extensive brand deals.
Kendall Jenner is an international fashion model who is now one of the highest paid runway models. But all her money doesn’t just come from modelling, as her endorsement deals with brands are pretty lucrative too.
Khloe Kardashian earns her income from her denim business, Good American, which launched in 2018. She has also had success hosting shows including Revenge Body with Khloe Kardashian and with her own brand deals.
Kourtney Kardashian – the eldest of the clan – made her money in a similar fashion to her siblings, with the reality show leading to brand endorsements, clothing lines and celebrity appearances. She has since launched lifestyle brand and e-commerce site, Poosh, and a vitamin and supplement line – Lemme.
Brother, Robert Kardashian, has too profited off his role in KUWTK and during the shows run launched sock brand Arthur George.
Momager, Kris Jenner, has built her fortune through her role as a manager for her five children, famously receiving a 10% cut of their business revenue. As explored in House of Kardashian, her savvy business-mind and shrewd negotiating skills has built the Kardashian empire to where they are today.
Why do you refer to Caitlyn as Bruce in the documentary?
During filming for House of Kardashian, when asked how she wanted to be referred to when talking about the time before she became Caitlyn, Caitlyn said “Bruce. It was all Bruce.”. Which is why you’ll spot throughout the series, moments when we use the name Bruce.
House of Kardashian will air on Sunday 8 October on Sky Documentaries
