Everything you need to know about Family Friendly Comedian

In Family Friendly Comedian, Paul Chowdhry performs to a crowd in London as he reflects on his career to date and embarks on a mission to tone down his more adult style of comedy.

But after so many years of performing, that proves a lot easier said than done.

Paul Chowdhry said of the special: “At last, my Family Friendly Comedian show is coming to TV! This show has toured around the world—even in Saudi Arabia—and I hope viewers will gather with family and friends to enjoy the fun together.

“After a quarter of a century as a comedic performer, this brings me into mainstream entertainment, and hopefully the chance to finally bake cakes on TV.”

Who is Paul Chowdhry?

Paul Chowdhry, born Tajpaul Singh Chowdhry, is a 50-year-old British comedian from Edgware, London.

He has been performing as a stand-up comedian since 1998, at times using influences from his experience in Britain as an Indian with Punjabi Sikh history to inspire his work and in hopes to challenge the stereotypes that come with it.

In 2003, he became the first British comedian ever to perform at the Caribbean Comedy Festival.

Across his years as a comedian, Paul has performed five tours across the world – Not PC (2010), What’s Happening White People? (2012), PC’s World (2014), Live Innit? (2017) and Family Friendly Comedian, which debuted in 2022.

Live Innit? Became a landmark moment after he became the first comedian of Asian heritage to sell out Wembley Arena.

The star credits Richard Pryor, Eddie Murphy, and Morecambe and Wise as his comedy heroes.
