Who is Michelle Keegan?
Michelle Keegan, born in 1987, is a British actress raised in Greater Manchester.
She decided to become an actress as a teenager, studying at the Manchester School of Acting after leaving school at the age of 16.
In 2006, Michelle landed her first major role in ITV soap Coronation Street in her second audition, becoming one of the soap’s biggest breakout stars.
Since that time, Michelle has become one of the UK’s most in-demand television actresses, appearing in high profile dramas for the BBC, ITV, Sky, and Netflix.
Michelle is one of the original cast members of Brassic, joining the show when it first launched in 2019.
Away from acting, Michelle is also an ambassador for online retailer Very, launching her own collections for the site, and has launched her own swimwear collection called Orfila Bee.
She’s also worked with cosmetics company Lancome.
Michelle has been married to Mark Wright, a TV presenter and former star on The Only Way Is Essex, since 2015.

Who does Michelle Keegan play in Brassic?
Erin Croft is introduced in Brassic as the girlfriend of Dylan (Damian Molony), the best friend of the chaotic Vinnie (Joseph Gilgun).
She is fiercely independent, driven, and turns heads. A troubled childhood led to a wild child phase in her teenage years which left her alone and pregnant - but having her child Tyler turned out to be the best mistake she ever made.
Determined to give him all the chances she never had, Erin is studying at college so she can get out of town and start a better life. Erin loves Dylan but he struggles to offer her the stability she needs, let alone the kind of future she craves for herself and Tyler.
At first, Erin longs to escape Hawley, feeling that it’s the only way to secure a better life for Tyler and herself.
But as the series progresses, she comes to realise that you don’t need to run away from your friends and the rest of the world to change your life.
Where have I seen Michelle Keegan before?
Michelle Keegan has become one of the most sought-after actresses in UK TV – and as such has appeared on some of the most beloved shows our shores have to offer.
Coronation Street – Tina McIntyre (2008 to 2014)
Tina McIntyre was beloved as a feisty resident of the Coronation Street cobbles, joining the show in January 2008 and immediately finding herself in trouble with Gail Platt.
Throughout her time on the show, Tina was involved in hard-hitting storylines that covered topics including teenage abortion, an affair with a married man, and committing perjury.
Despite her troubles, Tina is known to have a big heart, and was seen in relationships with some long-standing members of the series.
Initially, Tina was only meant to be on the show for a short-lived plotline, but became so popular with fans Michelle’s contract was extended.
When Michelle opted to leave the show in 2014, she said at the time: “I have had the most amazing six years at Coronation Street and it was such a difficult decision to leave. But I felt it was the right time for me to make the next step in my career.
“I will miss Tina and will always be grateful to ITV and Coronation Street for giving me such an amazing role to play for my first ever acting job.”
Her character was murdered in a vicious attack, falling from a building before being beaten with a pipe in 2014.
Our Girl – Georgie Lane (2016 to 2020)
Taking over the lead role from EastEnders star Lacey Turner, Michelle joined Our Girl as Lance Corporal Georgie Lane in the show’s second series.
The British Military drama followed Georgie and her comrades while in action, with the series seeing them in Kenya, Nepal, Nigeria, and Afghanistan.
Georgie is someone who throws herself headfirst into both work and love, with the series focusing on the life-or-death scenarios she finds herself in, and the romantic entanglements back at the barracks.
Michelle announced she would leave the show in 2020, with the BBC confirming shortly after the show would end with her on the release of series four.

Tina and Bobby – Tina Moore/Dean (2017)
This ITV limited series follows the real-life relationship of celebrated England footballer Bobby Moore and his wife, Tina.
The three-part series tracks their life as they first meet as teenagers in 1957 through to Bobby’s success as part of the England football team winning the World Cup and, eventually, their break-up.
It’s an inside look on how fame impacted their once low-key romance, and the major incidents that impacted them over the course of their marriage – including health scares, a theft, a kidnap threat, and the collapse of several businesses.
Ten Pound Poms – Kate Thorne (2023)
Ten Pound Poms follows a group of British citizens who decide to emigrate to Australia following the end of World War II.
Set in 1956, Michelle plays one of the Ten Pound Poms (the nickname given to those who emigrated due to the processing charge) who discover life Down Under is not quite what was promised to them.
Kate Thorne is a young nurse, who leaves her mother and fiancé Henry in England, in a desperate attempt to find her son who was taken to Australia without her permission.
It has already been confirmed that a second series of the show is in the works, with Michelle confirming in April that filming had commenced.
You can watch the first series on BBC iPlayer.
Fool Me Once – Maya Stern (2024)
In this Netflix limited series based on the book by Harlen Coben, Michelle plays Maya Stern, a widow who is struggling after the murder of her husband, Joe.
However, her life is turned upside down when, on a nanny-cam installed to keep an eye on her daughter, she spots her dead husband visiting the house.
Determined to get to the bottom of it, Maya is soon conducting her own investigation, with this psychological thriller promising stacks of twists.
