What is Baywatch about?

Get ready to dust off your red swimsuits, as we’re hitting the beach with the return of iconic TV series, Baywatch.

Made for a new generation of beach-lovers and drama-hunters, Baywatch follows a group of lifeguards on Santa Monica Beach in California.

While some are well-trained pros, new rookies will be taught the ropes of the life-saving responders as they protect those that hit the water.

On top of that, they’ll be dealing with their own dramas and will have to club together to deal with life’s challenges, romantic tension, and future possibilities.

Leading the new team of guards is Hobie Buchannon – the son of famed Baywatch captain Mitch Buchannon (played famously by David Hasselhoff in the original series), who finds his life upended when his estranged daughter Charlie makes an appearance, wanting to join the ranks.

With familiar faces from the original iconic series sure to be stopping in, prepare to dive headfirst into an action-packed story for a new generation. Like the legendary theme song declares, I’ll Be Ready…

Lucy Criddle, Director of Acquisitions & Strategic Projects, Sky said: “Baywatch is one of the most iconic television franchises of all time, and this bold new reimagining will deliver the sun, sea and high-stakes drama audiences know and love, while introducing a dynamic new cast for a new generation of fans.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Fremantle and couldn’t be more excited to bring the series exclusively to Sky audiences across the UK and Ireland.”
