Who's who in A Town Called Malice
Albert Lord (played by Jason Flemyng)

Albert Lord
Ruling over the Lord family is Albert. Living off faded glory, Albert was once London's crown prince of crime, until he blew it. Now he wants to get back on top, and Gene shows him how. But Albert doesn’t share power, even with his sons.

Jason Flemyng
Albert is played by Jason Flemyng, one of the most recognisable faces to come out of the UK. With a host of appearances in Hollywood films, including The League of Extraordinary Gentleman, and the cult 90s hit, Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels, more recently he has appeared in the Batman spin-off Pennyworth and The Walk-In.
Mint Ma (played by Martha Plimpton)

Mint Ma
Mint Ma, married to Albert for four decades, is the epitome of the glamorous gangster’s wife and just as deadly. She liked being on top and isn’t happy that she’s no longer in a position of power. Ma will do whatever it takes to get what she wants, and is ruthless in doing so.

Martha Plimpton
Martha Plimpton, one of the most recognisable teen actors of the 1980s, is best known to a generation for her role as Stef in The Goonies, and Ron Howard’s Parenthood alongside Steve Martin and Dianne West. Since then, she has never been out of work, appearing in Mass, ER, The Good Wife, Generation and Sprung.
Cindy Carter (played by Tahirah Sharif)

Cindy Carter
If Cindy is anything, she’s a survivor. She’s emerged more ferocious than ever from a troubled past and is determined to get what she wants. She loves as strongly as she hates and, like Gene, has big dreams of making it to the top.

Tahirah Sharif
Taking on the role of Cindy is south London-born, Tahirah Sharif. She rose to fame in Mike Flanagan’s The Haunting of Bly Manor, and the TV crime drama, The Tower. Sharif also starred in Ralph Fiennes’ The Invisible Woman, a drama about Charles Dickens’ secret affair with a younger woman.
Uncle Tony (played by Dougray Scott)

Uncle Tony
The first of the Lords to leap across the channel and down to Spain. Tony is Gene’s seeming saviour when he arrives on the Costa del Sol. Full of all the charm of a snake oil salesman, Tony might be a scoundrel and letch, but he’s not an idiot, and not to be trifled with.

Dougray Scott
Dougray Scott transforms himself for the role of Uncle Tony. Scott was one of the most recognisable faces on British TV in the Nineties, appearing in Soldier, Soldier, Lovejoy and Taggart. In the late Nineties, he went to Hollywood, appearing in EverAfter and Mission Impossible II alongside Tom Cruise and Thandie Newton. He also starred in the long-running cult hit, Desperate Housewives and, more recently, in DC’s Batwoman.
Carly Lord (played by Eliza Butterworth)

Carly Lord
Married to Leonard while still in her teens, and mother to their child, everyone, especially Mint Ma, underestimates Carly. Most people just see a trophy wife when they look at Carly, but when she moves to Spain, a new side of herself awakens that Mint Ma would be proud of… or should that be scared of?

Eliza Butterworth
Beginning her career on DCI Banks, in a short time Eliza Butterworth has established a strong list of credits. She starred in the historical drama The North Water, which featured the talents of Jack O’Connell and Colin Farrell. She is perhaps best known for her role as Aelswith in the Saxon-period drama, The Last Kingdom. Now she takes on the role of Carly Lord in A Town Called Malice.
Kelly Lord (played by Daniel Sharman)

Kelly Lord
Flash, brash and with something to prove, Kelly might be the middle kid, but like all the Lords, he believes his place is at the top. Largely ignored by Albert and Mint Ma, Kelly is wildly unpredictable and believes his time is now.

Daniel Sharman
Another alumnus of Medici, Daniel Sharman, stars as Kelly. Starting his career with the RSC, he trained at the London Academy of Dramatic Art. Working between the UK and the USA he has appeared in The Originals, Teen Wolf (the TV series), Medici as Lorenzo de Medici, and Cursed.
Gene Lord (played by Jack Rowan)

Gene Lord
Albert’s youngest son, but by far his brightest. Gene wanted to stay away from the family business, but life doesn’t always turn out how you want. He’s the family’s only real hope of making their name mean something again, even if he doesn’t have the cut-throat mentality of his siblings and parents…yet.

Jack Rowan
Gene is played by Jack Rowan. Audiences will recognise him from the dystopian sci-fi Noughts and Crosses. With a film and theatre background, Rowan rose to prominence with his terrifying performance in the mini-series Born To Kill as a psychopathic teen. He has also appeared in Steven Knight’s Peaky Blinders, and Wreck.
