Everything you need to know about the new Sky Original animation
Sometimes in order to find the best version of yourself, you have to take some unexpected roads… and a pampered cat is about to learn this the hard way in 10 Lives.
Created by Christopher Jenkins (Surf’s Up) comes the tale of Beckett, who finds himself scrambling to understand and appreciate life after pushing his luck a little too hard.
This results in a lot of hilarity – and one epic adventure through life as an animal.
10 Lives debuted to critical acclaim at Sundance Film Festival in January, with critics celebrating its handling of darker, mature topics in a ‘fun palatable way children can handle’.
With an all-star cast of British talent led by comedian Mo Gilligan – and including some surprising additions like Zayn Malik – Sky Original comedy 10 Lives is sure to be one for all the family across the Easter season.

What is 10 Lives about?
10 Lives follows the story of Beckett, a pampered cat who takes life for granted after being rescued and loved by the kind-hearted natural science student, Rose.
However, after the cat pushes his luck and loses his ninth life, Beckett finds himself begging for one last chance.
Thankfully, thanks to a Gatekeeper at the reincarnation department, he is given nine new lives.
The only catch? Every one of those nine lives will be lived as a different animal.
Now Beckett has several lifetimes of adventures to get through, but will it be enough to turn him from being selfish to being a hero?
Who is in the cast of 10 Lives and where have we seen them before?
10 Lives has recruited a wealth of British-focused talent to voice the characters.
This includes:
- Mo Gilligan (best known as TV host of The Lateish Show and The BRIT Awards) Awards) as Beckett
- Simone Ashley (Sex Education, Bridgerton) as Rose
- Sophie Okonedo (The Wheel of Time, Slow Horses) as Grace
- Dylan Llewelyn (Derry Girls, Big Boys) as Larry
- Jeremy Swift (Ted Lasso) as Happy
- Bill Nighy (Living, Love Actually, The Beautiful Game) as lead villain, Professor Craven
The film also marks the first acting role for music artist Zayn Malik – the former One Direction star who has since released songs including “Pillow Talk” and “Love Like This”. His latest single, “What I Am”, dropped on March 15 this year. He’ll be lending his voice to two characters – twin lumberjack-like goons, Cameron and Kirk.
Will Zayn Malik be singing in the film?
On top of Zayn lending his voice to multiple characters in the movie, the star will also be providing music to the soundtrack.
One song has been confirmed by the film’s writer and director, Christopher Jenkins, to be a duet with Simone Ashley.
