  • Why is switching now easier than before?

    A new rule from Ofcom means it’s now quicker and easier to switch mobile network providers.

    Up until now, you could only leave your current provider by calling them to get a switching code. From 1 July, you can also get your switching code within 60 seconds by texting a free number. This is great news as it means you don’t even have to speak to your existing provider if you want to leave, as you can text or go online instead.

  • What is text-to-switch?

    You can now text your current provider to get your switching code when you want to leave them.

  • What's a switching code?

    There are two types of switching codes:

    1. PAC (Porting Authorisation Code) - lets you transfer your number to a new provider and cancel services with your old one.

    2. STAC (Service Terminating Authorisation Code) - lets you cancel services with your old provider and cancels your number.

    You will receive your switching code within 60 seconds. It will be valid for 30 days.

  • How do I get a switching code?

    The easiest way to get your switching code is by texting your existing provider.

    Text PAC to 65075 if you want to transfer your number from your existing provider and cancel your services with them.

    Text STAC to 75075 to cancel your services with your current provider and don’t want to keep your number. You’ll get a new number when you join Sky Mobile.

    Your current provider will send you your switching code and details of any outstanding charges you may have with them if you leave, such as early termination charges if you are in a minimum term.

  • How do I switch to Sky Mobile?

    It’s really easy to switch to Sky Mobile. All you need to do is:

    1. Choose a data plan and we’ll send your Sky Mobile SIM in the post. Browse through our latest phones .

    2. If you haven't already, text PAC to 65075 to get your switching code within 60 seconds.

    3. Activate your new Sky Mobile SIM and enter your PAC.

    We’ll complete your switch to Sky Mobile within one working day, as long as you gave us your PAC code before 5pm Monday to Friday

  • What is a PAC and STAC?

    A PAC (Porting Authorisation Code) lets you transfer your number to Sky Mobile and cancels your services with your old provider.

    A STAC (Service Terminating Authorisation Code) lets you cancel your services with your old provider and cancels your current number. You’ll get a new number when you join Sky Mobile.

  • How do I join Sky Mobile and keep my existing number?

    You’ll need a PAC (Porting Authorisation Code) which lets you transfer your number to Sky Mobile and cancels your services with your old provider.

    To get your PAC from your existing provider, text PAC to 65075.

  • How long is my switching code valid for?

    Your PAC or STAC is valid for 30 days. If you don’t use it within this time and you still want to switch to Sky Mobile, you’ll need to request a new one by texting your existing provider.

  • What do I need to do once I have my PAC or STAC?

    Once you receive your new Sky Mobile SIM pack, follow the instructions on it. It will tell you everything you need on how to activate your SIM and where to enter your PAC or STAC.

  • Can I still join Sky Mobile if I’m in a contract with another provider?

    When you request a PAC or STAC, your current provider will let you know about any outstanding balances or charges that may apply (such as any early termination charges if you are in a minimum term).

    You can also request this information without getting a switching code by texting INFO to 85075 to get all the information you need from your existing provider.

  • How quickly will I be able to switch to Sky Mobile?

    Once you’ve given us your PAC or STAC, we’ll complete your switch to Sky Mobile within one working day, provided you give it to us before 5pm Monday to Friday. Otherwise it may take a little longer, particularly on bank holidays.

    Your services with your existing provider will end on the same day as you used your PAC or STAC.
