Harry's dreams of building an empire start to fade as the Sixties draw to a close, but he pulls himself out of depression in an quest to solve the murder of a rent boy.

Harry strikes up an unlikely friendship in prison with Lenny, a hippie Marxist lecturer who lands in hot water for teaching his theories on social deviance to the inmates.
