When young detective Salvo Montalbano receives a promotion and is transferred from a remote Sicilian village to the seaside town of Vigata, he finds himself supervising a team of local policemen. The team - which include veteran Carmine Fazio and bumbling agent Catarella - investigate crimes as serious as murder. The programme, a prequel that provides insight into the Sicilian detective's early crime-fighting career, is presented in Italian with English subtitles.
